To play multiplayer, you need to apply the fix in the link. Other than that, works perfectly with stable Proton.
To play multiplayer, you need to download https://drive.google.com/file/d/1gmeinwig3_ifwKqtz7T4JB1bjU2c5WAw/view and place it in /Steam/steamapps/compatdata/813780/pfx/drive_c/windows/system32
Works natively OOTB.
If you have a non-English keyboard with special characters, the game controls don't recognize those special characters, only English ones. You need to assign keys that are present in the English keyboard layout.
Runs perfectly out of the box.
Works natively OOTB without a single problem.
Contrary to the others, I didn't experience any lagginess in the launcher.
Runs perfectly on X11.
Back when I was using Fedora, I had many problems with CS: GO on Wayland.
Just like all Valve games, runs perfectly on native.
Slightly worse performance than Windows.
Proton Experimental works just like Windows, no less. Native is extremely sluggish.
Cursor looks weird, but it's merely aestethical.
Other than occasional crashes, runs greatly.
The game crashes every 2-3 hours. I also used Experimental and GE. Nothing fixes this.
The game may sometimes create problems on Wayland. I recommend switching to Xorg while playing CKIII.
The game sometimes freezes your computer entirely on Wayland. I didn't encounter this problem on Xorg though.
Works natively OOTB with Vulkan.
Shift+Tab overlay sometimes doesn't work.
NEVER, EVER USE OPENGL!
Leaves a lot to be desired. Vulkan is horribly unoptimized. Proton does nothing either. It is up to Paradox to improve the Linux version.
Vanilla runs "acceptably" with Vulkan, though no match for Windows. Heavy mods like AGOT are borderline unplayable. I used both Proton (DXVK) and native. Both suck.
Proton fixes native's artifacting but performance isn't as smooth as Windows.
Native version has graphical artifacting and blurring. Proton fixes that, but there is a slight performance impact. Not much, but noticeable.
Works natively OOTB minus a tiny artifact.
The map font is slightly blurry, but it isn't very noticeable. If you use Proton, it fixes this tiny artifact, but there is a noticeable considerable performance drop. It is up to you to decide which one to use. I personally play it natively.
Selected x86-64 Chromium beta. And for x86-64 to work, had to download https://github.com/solsticegamestudios/GModCEFCodecFix
Heavily modded servers may upset you.
For x86-64 Chromium version to work, you must install the CEF Codec Fix, or the game will crash at the start. It is important to add that Proton also sucks. x86-64 is the only way to go.
The game is laggy for first 5-6 minutes, then it goes and it runs as smoothly as Wİndows.
Only 3GB of my GTX 1060 6GB are usable in the graphics menu. The game uses 1.2GB at the highest possible settings, but it is a bug worth considering.
Works perfectly with stable Proton.
If you have a GPU that has a larger VRAM than 3 GB, the game will see it as 3 GB no matter what. But at the highest possible settings, the game takes up 1.2 GB of VRAM, so it is not an issue.
Proton 8.0-3 sometimes stutters, and GloriousEggroll doesn't work. Experimental is the way to go right now.
Only the first chapter is a bit laggy, but the rest runs smoothly.
Shift-Tabbing completely borks the game. I recommend disabling it from properties lest you accidentally Shift-Tab while playing.
Works perfectly with Proton-GE. Also no problem launching with Experimental and Stable, but I didn't play that much on those versions.
Shift+Tab overlay crashes the game.
Some mods may not work. I personally tried Calradia Expanded, and it crashed on "New Campaign" no matter what. I switched from Wayland to Xorg, changed Proton versions between GE, Experimental and Stable, disabled and enabled MangoHUD.
I am currently using Dismemberment Plus, Harmony, ButterLib, UI Extender and Mod Configuration menu. No problems with these mods.
7.1-GE-2 GloriousEggroll
Native version says "Incorrect serial number" when you try to play multiplayer. With Proton, everything is fine.
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="xaudio2_7=n,b" PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=90 %command%
If you don't add WINEDLLOVERRIDES="xaudio2_7=n,b" PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=90 %command% to the launch settings, the NPC voice is completely borked.
Proton 6.3-8 has a tiny bit stuttering. But with Proton-GE, it's even better than Windows.
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
