Nicely working
Works out of the box
-windowed
window wouldn't go full screen on the 2nd display

obs-gamecapture gamemoderun mangohud --dlsym PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
Main menu was incredibly stuttery, to the point where I struggled to select things. Game itself was fine.
Immediate CTD about 30 frames after the game window opens if no WINED3D flag is set, nothing in Proton or game output logs.
Runs slower than usual (for some reason).
Works without problems. Download install and play.
Input for searching parts is a bit tedious
I used the track pad for a better precision when selecting de parts on assembly/disassembly
Perfect
Works perfectly fine
My only issue was occassionally there would be stuttering with many vehicles in garage. Alt-Tabbing out and back in oddly seemed to fix it.
Very rare crashes, maybe once every several hours of gameplay?
only one crash I think it happend due to length of time I played that day
plays the same as on windows at least for me
En windows calidad media 60 fps. Linux calidad baja 25 fps.
Runs like native, no problems.
Had to reduce graphic performance to 'Low', Still Graphics looks good enough for me.
Occasionally game will crash when quitting.
sometimes it freeze due to mouse click, but right click will unfreeze

Works perfectly with Proton-5.11-GE-3-MF. Even video works perfectly, both intro and tutorial videos.

Proton-5.11-GE-3-MF
Media playback don't work, experience is a bit sluggish but outside that the game runs fine.
Video playback not working
Works as if its native
~50 FPS with low graphic settings
Overall the game runs relatively well. the mouse bug from before seems to be fixed and its pretty enjoyable to play
Not sure if this is a problem in windows but the mouse seemed to be delayed a bit. maybe its just some smoothing though
The game has occasional stuttering here and there which mostly went away once Anti Aliasing and Motion Blur were disabled
Runs perfectly out of the box. No fullscreen mouse issues or fps issues after 30 minutes.
Runs Perfectly
Gameplay experience was great with a solid 60 FPS. Occasional stuttering when loading the environment but to be expected.
The paint on the vehicles doesn't display properly but everything else works fine. You can see all the parts just a minor artifact.
After installing the game for the first time it may not launch and just crash(happens on Proton 4.11). Just relaunch it.
Good
Aliasing, reflection of light sources.
Works well on Proton 3.16 but not 4.x. Also need to use game controller.
Mouse will warp left/up like others have reported. I was not able to fix using any of the workarounds. I switched to a game controller (using a wired PDP brand XBox one controller) and it works fine.
Proton 4.x will stutter real bad after ~20 minutes of play. Also freezes at launch about 20% of the time. Proton 3.16 works fine. I recommend against installing the MS video libraries as the videos only play at launch and don't add anything. Just annoying to click through.

At a specific time it appears that the FPS goes really low.
The cursor jumping is now fixed in Proton 4.11-10.
The game starts up to menu correctly, but the mouse cursor keeps jumping to the upper left corner of the screen, making the game unplayable.

Because of this issue with the mouse cursor a typical gamer would not enjoy the experience of running this game on Linux with Proton
Mouse cursor will spontaneously move to the top left of the screen when moving the cursor around in the menu selection screen and in game.
Tried enabling "Emulate a desktop" under the Graphics tab in
winecfg
and running the game but it still did not resolve the issue. 2014 and 2015 versions work flawlesslyTried "Run game in EXCLUSIVE FULLSCREEN mode" but it still did not resolve the issue.
Tried mf-install fix by cloning git repo at https://github.com/z0z0z/mf-install and running
WINEPREFIX=~/.steam/debian-installation/steamapps/compatdata/645630/pfx ./install-mf.sh
. Everything installs successfully but it still did not resolve the issue.WORKAROUND: Disabled mouse acceleration in game settings and lowered controller sensitivity. It improves the symptoms by reducing the amount the cursor moves but the issue is still there.

Victim of the "mouse cursor wants to stay in the upper left corner" problem. I have tried everything to fix this issue that makes the game unplayable, including upgrading my Ubuntu distribution to 19.04 from 18.04 based on advice in this database. I use Proton/Steam Play for numerous Windows games and have had zero issues on all of them until I came across Car Mechanic Simulator 2018.

As of Proton 4.11-5 this is now generally playable if you use a controller. Mouse still doesn't work properly (jumps to the top left corner of the screen). Tutorial videos in the beginning tutorial needs codecs from Windows Media Foundation to work. Biggest issue however is that after something like 30m of play the game drops to something like 15-20fps, you can get past this by restarting the game however and it will run again for 30-ish minutes.

Works well with Xbox controller (Steam input forced off), a bit choppy but that's what Windows players also report. Mouse is freaking out though.

With Proton-4.11-5 the game worked perfectly, with maximum audio and video settings without lag

The game run very good with xbox 360 controller without any tweaks
