It's playable; but, if you are the host, whoever joins you feel lag whenever your game stutters.
Borderless windowed did not work, it acted as if it was fullscreen.
Major stuttering when seeing any kind of unique asset, almost as if it's building a cache. The stuttering goes away after you "cache" all the areas and have seen most of the enemies. Also runs somewhat worse than on Windows, but I still hit 60 fps on mostly low settings whereas I could hit 60 on windows with high settings.
I was able to play with friends on epic as long as I was running Proton 5.0-10
The game takes odd priority over your mouse and keyboard inputs no matter which screen setting you chose. You can't click out of or type out of the Garlic window, and forget about alt-tabs.
Very occasionally the game get's stuck on a black screen when transitioning from zone to zone, but a quick reset fixed it the 2 times it happened.
I would HIGHLY recommend not running the native Linux version. It is very unstable and getting any workshop content to work with it is a nightmare. Use Proton.
Works just about as welll as on Windows, just give it an hour on a fresh install to warm up.
Can't run on SSGI Lighting like I can on windows. Everything appears black when I try. Otherwise the graphics have to be toned down a little from what I can run on Windows which is to be expected.
The game had some HEAVY Slowdown when a Hyakki Yako event occured, which could not be fixed by lowering graphics to minimum. I have to just fast travel out running at 4 fps (not joking). Everything was normal once you traveled out though.
average 80 fps on medium-low settings with my rig. I could push it to hit 144 if everything was set as low as it can go.
Very little issue running off of proton.
Took 3 to 5 tires of alt-tabbing to actually tab out
Very occasionally scroll input did not register. restart to fix.
Hopefully the native version being worked on patches these small bugs.
Without the save bug, it works fine out of the box.
The save button does not work, and as a result it cannot sync up with cloud saves. You can still play normally, but if the data it's using goes away for some reason, there will be no cloud backup.
If I leave the window, I cannot re-open Titanfall2 without re-launching. Windowed did not work at all.
major stuttering
Did not work, but I imagine even if I connected, the unplayable servers wouldn't allow multiplayer anyway. And I tried the modded Northstar client, but it failed to launch and kept crashing, which I suspect is Origin's fault.
Would not try to play on linux, atleast through proton.
Still plays just a well, just looks choppier, which may fit well with the psx style anyway.
It feels like it runs at 30 fps, though nvidea is reporting 180 average.
Worked great
Occasionally have to continuously alt-tab to continue if I exit the window
This is amending my previous report of ULTRAKILL, as before it felt like it ran poorly. Now it's basically perfect.
The launcher takes forever to check for updates. Without Glorious Eggroll, I couldn't see the launcher; but, it still technically worked and I could get in game.
You technically don't need Proton-GE if you know how to navigate the launcher blind, but I highly reccomend GE on this one since it crashed a few times when not using GE.
