With the game being just as buggy on Windows, it's hard to say yes or no. If you can stand windowed mode, go for it.

In the Minerva's Den DLC, any audio longer than 1 second would randomly start cutting out; this is most notable on the level Operations at the intersection of Climate Control and Core Access. Base game is largely fine, though.
Slight texture flickering in the submerged section after dropping through the burning platform
Windowed mode seems to ignore xfce's ability to run any window in borderless mode.
In some cases, movement would cease even while holding down movement keys. Again, this was mostly in the DLC.
Massive slowdown after entering the clinic but only in fullscreen
Running in the game in full screen seems to make the game more prone to crashes. Using the Shock plasmid is most likely to cause the game to crash, though playing in windowed mode seems to prevent crashes. Alt-tabbing in fullscreen can also cause WINE to crash.
Adding the launch option is pretty much required to avoid 2K's awful launcher which adds nothing. Otherwise, works OOTB.

Pretty much any issues you're likely have when using Proton are also likely to happen on Windows. Highly recommend installing the GUI Mod v1.4 from ModDB which isn't a problem with Proton but the Remaster itself.
Game runs as well as it would on Windows and any issues are likewise an issue on Windows.
/opt/wine-discord-ipc-bridge/winediscordipcbridge-steam.sh %command%
Issue is more related to the recent Season than Proton
Players rarely take a while (>60 seconds) to join, though that might be general connection issues
Launch options are only for Discord Rich presence and are largely unneeded if you don't care about that sort of thing. Also, there's a minor issue with the game sometimes not loading after launch but can be solved by rebooting.
Game would minimize when alt-tabbing in fullscreen
Game can crash on the final boss due to too many incapasitated civilians Game will freeze and hang after exiting
Ignoring the fact you can brick your save at the literal final boss, as those are also Windows problem, the game is largely playable on Linux from start to (mostly) finish. I also highly encourage grabbing the Patcher from NexusMods to fix the game from freezing after it's closed as well as other fixes.
Aside from the slight issues with other windows going all screwy (which quickly goes away after clicking said windows), it runs just fine.
Not with the game itself, but launching the game causes other windows to glitch out with rainbow-like artifacting.
Between the campaign and Kaycee's Mod, I only experienced once case of slowdown that may have been related to background progresses
Game runs perfectly fine and the only time it "hitches" is when it's saving at the start of a Cycle
GE Proton is my default in Steam, but the game is completely playable with Valve's own Proton.
Get kicked not even 10 seconds after joining a match
Hopefully it get fixed considering I bought the founders pack when that was a thing.
Works completely fine out of the box | I play with GE by default, however I don't see why stock Proton wouldn't work.
There was a single case where looking at an object with a recesed space allowed you to look out of bounds. Very minor and only once.
While the game is largely playable, I don't know if I can recommend it to first time players
Certain elements that rely on transparency like Magic Floor Runes and Text font doesn't appear. There is also one case of textures on tree roots not being properly transparent which results in a cluster of square, flat textures.
Framerate can drop noticeably when outdoors, even with optimized pref.ini settings
Getting the game modded was fairly simply with the help of Steam Tinker Launcher to installed MO2. It's able to run fine with a fair selection of mods.
