Sometimes I'd have some faint crackling for some sound effects
Occasional visual artifacts caused by frequent opening of the journal/inventory screens. Goes away on restart.
Proton-6.21-GE-2 GloriousEggroll

I'm unsure if there is any performance degradation but some cutscenes had some slight stutter that wasn't present on Windows. Smoke/heavy particles had about the same performance impact on my hardware (Windows and on Linux).
After the first time setup the game did not launch but after relaunching it did. Surprisingly, my Origin account was synced and I didn't have to sign in again (I started on Windows and finished the last chapter on Linux). I did not try local co-op but online co-op worked and I was able to continue playing with my friend on Windows just like I was on Windows.
On Sway, the Origin launcher/overlay spawned 6 windows which look to be the Origin overlay and the game spawned fullscreen above them.
Some areas of the game tank frames and after some time the game starts to lag and I need to restart
Noticed some audio crackling while playing episode 2
With GE-Proton7-14, cutscenes had some occasional slight stutter and some frame drops in some areas of the maps in episode 1 but playable. While playing episode 2 I was running under 30 frames consistently.
Occasional 1 second stutter in some of my matches. I don't know whether this is Proton or just the game
Maybe, current mesa-git (23.3.0_devel) with proton experimental improved performance for me.
bash -c 'exec "${@/Starfield.exe/sfse_loader.exe}"' -- gamescope -H 1440 -h 1440 -r 144 -o 20 -e -f -- bash -c "mangoapp & mangopid=\$!; %command%; kill -9 \$mangopid"
Setup SFSE with Baka Achievement enabler
Strange ship thruster/engine particles artifacting but not a big deal
Controller joysticks have to be used before I can look around with my mouse. Seems like a game issue but I'm unsure.
Very rare crashes in Akila City
I am currently playing with mesa-git 23.3.0_devel but I also had luck with mesa 23.2.0-rc3. I had some performance issues in some areas with mesa 23.1.6.
Needs "PROTON_NO_FSYNC=1 %command%" in the launch options to be able to save
Completed the main game without any issues Completed a couple substories in Osaka Didn't really play the mini games
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="dinput8=n,b"
Occasional audio crackling and sometimes caused by putting the Steam Deck to sleep
I highlighy recommend to use the SilentPatch https://cookieplmonster.github.io/2021/02/05/silentpatch-yakuza-remastered-collection/
Cutscene audio was sometimes wrong
The last playable character was wearing the wrong outfit
I didn't really try any of the mini games so I'm not sure if those work well. Other than the issues I listed, this is probably one of my favorites in the series.
Finished the main story and some side quests without any issues
I used a series x controller (wired) and had no issues with it
I only adjusted the framerate cap to 40 or 50fps when I was on battery, otherwise I mostly played while charging/connected to a wall outlet.
A little hard to read sometimes but wasn't a dealbreaker for me
Occasional crackling when resuming the game from sleep
I played on medium settings with realtime reflections and motion blur turned off. I played the majority of the game on the Steam Deck and I think the last 2 chapters on my Linux desktop.
