Game offers UI scaling option, 1,8x worked perfectly, no small texts
One of the strategy games that can be played without drawbacks on Deck
The CoH3 Public Playtest freezes the Deck with default Proton and with GE-Proton you'll face a bugsplash error report (send to devs etc)
Hope the full game will work on Deck
Like on Geforce NOW there is a significant input delay, causing you to fail skillchecks and miss opportunities. It's pretty painful but playable.
The game is 'Contacting Server' after almost everything you do in the menus, taking a second or so every time which could be faster on thePC
Cards on the battlefield can have small text sizes, but hovering them opens a close up.
After several hours of playing I was thrown back to the title screen with an error 'You have been temporarily disconnected from the servers...'. Whenever I try to get back into the game this message appears instead. I have made a report in the Steam discussions providing a screenshot.
I have won most matches and been MVP most of the time. Works great and is a lot of fun.
Out of the box, graphics set to high, FPS are sluggish in some situations, those become more and more frequent as you advance in the game, so I set FPS Cap to 40, refresh rate to 40Hz and ingame graphics to medium. This was an improvement but still it would be a bit sluggish sometimes, there's probably much better tweaks for this as it seems a minor issue, but I'm new to the Deck.
Zoom & Rotate Cam on R Stick, Numbers & Numpad on L Trackpad Touch Menu, A/B/X/Y for Play/Pause Demolish Lines Vehicles, D-Pad for Rotate Building F2/F3 F4/F5
The game provides options for UI Scaling, unchecking Automatic (Scaling) and adjusting the scaling between 80% and 100% makes the text perfectly readable. It's a very logistics and management heavy game and sometimes the many windows may clutter the small screen but it is no issue whatsoever. I inverted the camera tilting axis in the settings and adjusted the zooming/scrolling sensivity via my control scheme (Turbo - 250 ms).
Upon starting the game the first time you are presented a warning about integrated graphics that can be safely ignored and turned off in the Advanced settings (Hardware Warnings).
Highly recommended, very good game, runs perfect on Deck.
Back Grips for Inventory, Skills etc
Small as expected but everything was readable
I played into Chapter 2, great experience on Deck. Action-driven isometric Online-RPG, recommended.
Camera movement on left stick, Zoom on right stick, map modes on Dpad, Esc/Close dialogue on B
My default setting is 9W which I only change in demanding games. It isn't necessary in WarPlan.
