The game just stutters too much to be enjoyable. Combined with the low, unadjustable FOV, it's just too difficult to maintain awareness.

Significant performance problems in the leaked dev build
Used the dev build.
Mouse sensitivity is a little lower than it should be, but otherwise it runs perfectly and without issue. Also, the options menu's resolution changer works, but has a small graphical error.
Crashes without wineD3D, blurry textures with Esync enabled.
Some stutter and hitching when starting the level, and occasionally some when opening a door. Perfectly playable however.
Crashes frequently but functional enough.
Stability is a big problem. The windows version supposedly has a memory leak and some stability issues of its own.
Severe connection quality issues. This is a netcode issue, not a proton issue.
Make sure you have sufficient hardware to overcome the fps issues. And use a new build of proton, either from tkg or GloriousEggroll.
5.4-GE-3 GloriousEggroll
5.4-GE-3
When first loading a level, shadows will corrupt a texture here and there. Turning around will resolve the issue.
MUCH lower performance than windows. I still get >60 FPS, and usually >80FPS, but on windows it's a consistent 140fps.
Latest update added a new type of Denuvo anti-cheat. Completely borked.
Even if you can power through the general performance issues, Chapter 10 won't be playable.
Game is playable, but performance is terrible given my hardware. Generally low 40s.
Chapter 10 is particuarly bad, I'm getting sub-15 fps, even on lowest settings.
Some fonts do not render correctly.
Mouse cursor remains visible during gameplay
Could not create new campaign save, game locks up when starting new campaign.
~40 fps on a 5700xt
Game locks up on black screen when starting new campaign.
Be sure to delete the contents of ./videos to prevent failure to launch.
Game freezes and presents a black screen on alt tab
Input in menus would quit working after taking certain actions. Not a major issue as said actions cause the game to save, and you can restart without losing progress.
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
DXVK fails to launch the game, wine D3D performance isn't great.
Did not test online multiplayer.
--disable-gpu Launch Flag to fix the launcher.
Noticeable performance issues on Oshur.
Causes driver crashes every few minutes. Sometimes 5 minutes, sometimes 20. But they lock up everything and you can't even switch TTY's.

Use republic commando fix mod to play at modern resolutions and to fix mouse sensitivity. Unfortunately, mice always glitch out a bit in menus, so use arrow keys. These bugs are present on windows as well.
Mods work as well, provided you can copy the relevant files from a windows install into the save, config, mod, and bin directories.
Runs with severe hitching. It appears to be a shader compilation issue, and will go away after waiting in an area. Does not start with esync disabled, and wine D3d11 makes the game very dark.
Stuttering/hitching still present when entering new areas. Goes away if you wait a moment.
Disabling Esync results in a significant performance gain.
Disable Esync
Make sure to disable steam overlay or the game will fail to launch.
Loud crackle occured 2-3 times in the fist hour.
Install ID Tweaker 5 from PCGW to unlock the framerate. It runs much better that way.
