Text is hard to read when you're on handheld mode, this gets solved when you move to docked.
By lowering all the graphics in game I was able to play in 60FPS, I don't know if you can push the graphics even further and still keep it all solid just expect the console to be at +70°C if you do so.
Make sure to use the built-in FPS limiter of your deck, this makes the game look smoother when you go down to 40-30 frames.
Can't say much here, the only issue I ran into were some crashes while playing or entering levels after replacing the Coco.pak with the Dark Coco one made by the user ARD. Somehow the crashes are now fixed after turning off the "Fur Blur" option.
I had to use a mouse in order to get pass the initial pick a resolution window.
I had this weird issue were after putting the deck to sleep and going back to the game the buttons on my controller (8BitDO Pro 2) were swapped. The A button swapped to the start button and such. However in order to fix this I had to restart my deck everytime.
Only problem was during Dismal Island where I had to modify Brad's name, I had to press "X" on my Bluetooth keyboard just to delete characters because it didn't recognize the Steam Deck's virtual keyboard. Maybe mapping a "X" button on your controller layout could work as well but can't confirm.
Limit the FPS to 40-30
The game freezes under certain attacks from both players or monsters. Attacks such as major explosions or roars from monsters are prone to produce this freeze.
Like I stated before, the game freezes under certain attatcks, no idea what's the cause of this as I tried with the default Proton version, Proton Experimental and GE-Proton7-40. After the freeze it takes likes 2+ minutes to go back to normal, weirdly enough the background music keps playing.
For a bit more of information, I use some graphical plugins on my deck such as CSS loader and Vibrant Deck. I don't know if they can even trigger such error as I'm not seeing other users experimenting the same issue
In some cases my controller (8bitdo Pro2) doesn't get detected when I start up the game.
Just like I started earlier sometimes the game gets confused when I get to use my external controller while I'm on docked mode. Aside from that everything is just fine and dandy.
Moslty due to the game's nature, flash games aren't meant to be this big and this causes any machine to sometimes struggle.
Unfortunately this game wasn't meant to be played with a joystick which sometimes causes diagonal movements to be a bit wonky and even charge attacks like Brimstone to not shoot properly, also make sure to not take many "speed up" upgrades because it makes Isaac impossible to control.
