4 FPS at most on a good day no matter the settings, completely unplayable. Cutscene have no problems however.
Needed to add a command line option to make the game launch on NVIDIA GPU.
PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 gamemoderun %command%
Some stutter and slowdowns
This game hates NVIDIA cards, and you might get some crashes if you set some settings to use NVIDIA tech
Doesn't work on NVIDIA cards without the
PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1
Game freezes as soon as it loads on the first mission because of some graphic setting. Just leave it a "low" for the first mission then go ham
The menu flickers slightly, it doesn't bother me, but your mileage might vary.
Use -oldgameui
as a launch arguments to switch to the default HL UI which doesn't flicker.
Cutscenes do not play out of the box. They are very important to the enjoyment of the game if you're new.
Original mf-install (@ https://github.com/z0z0z/mf-installcab) didn't work for me, thankfully I found mf-fix (@ https://github.com/HoodedDeath/mf-fix) which did.
Cutscenes do not play out of the box, some annoying tinkering is required to make them work. I found that the cutscene patch do not work on versions newer that 6.3-8.
Game exits after failing to instantiate EAC
Borked, we're still waiting
Source game, y'know, be careful about alt-tabbing (especially in fullscreen)
Cannot launch the configuration tool (has to be launched manually from the game files) Exiting the game hangs it, you need to kill the process manually
6.1-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
Proton-6.1-GE-1 Glorious Eggroll
Cannot launch the configuration tool (has to be launched manually from the game files)
Exiting the game hangs it, you need to kill the process manually
Missing dependencies prevents the base game from launching
Launching the War of the Chosen version however DOES work, but it's DLC so report says borked.
I had to install 4(!) external dependencies to make the game work on Arch: openssl-1.0, libidn11, librtmp0 and libldap-2.4. You can also download the archives manually and just put the necessary libraries into the "lib" folder in the game files, if you prefer not having to install them fully.
I know the game is made for Ubuntu, but I feel like those libraries should've been bundled as well (it already has things like libcurl bundled so no excuse there). Weirdly enough the WotC version works out of the box and doesn't need those extra dependencies, dunno why.
