Default Proton works, but not as performant as GE. Never had any issues with launcher on either.
Runs better on my Linux partition with Proton than on Windows.
Game is fun and runs great under proton with no extra configuration.

Controller constantly reading as if holding direction.
Under 20fps outside of cities.
After some headaches of getting the game to actually run without going to windowed mode and being unable to interact with the menus at all, I was getting a silky smooth 20fps outside the cities. On Windows I was able to get up to 60fps outside cities.
In addition to GE9-2 I tried 9.0, Experimental, and 8.0-5. It doesn't help that Denuvo decided I've "installed on to too many machines" after trying these changes so I can't even launch the game anymore. If they remove Denuvo i'm sure this game would actually run as intended.
Probably works fine with standard Proton, but I use GE as default.
