Works great out of the box
Slightly lower framerates than on Windows, mostly in the most demanding stages. Lowering my graphic setting from High to Medium made the game smooth again for me.
Slightly lower performance than Windows. Minor stuttering when arriving at new locations, but it's pretty insignificant and goes away quickly. ProtonGE got me noticeably better framerates and less stutter than stock Proton.
Some sprites popping here and there, rather rarely.
The game wouldn't let me go past a specific point in the story without crashing. Switching to Proton 5.0-10 fixed that issue for me.

No cross-OS saves
The game runs perfectly fine once changed the launch options. As of now, it can also be run natively, but it still crashes on startup if you don't modify your launch options. My save files from Windows didn't synchronize.

Without the launch option, the game crashes immediately on launch.
The main menu options wouldn't show up — switching to Proton 7.0-6 fixed that issue. I get some minor glitches here and there, but they're scarse and don't break the experience in my opinion.
Running the game on an older version of Proton; otherwise, the game won't start. The launcher was a hit or miss — sometimes it'd break, sometimes it wouldn't. Renaming Sims3LauncherW.exe to Sims3LauncherW.exe.bak and then TS3W.exe to Sims3LauncherW.exe bypasses that issue.
