Published
-win -fullscreen -xpos 0 -ypos 0
only in integrated mode, but when i switched to hybrid or nvidia, it went away.
game was crashing, when we alt tab, it was fixed by the custom launch options -win -fullscreen -xpos 0 -ypos 0
The first time you launch the game, you must be using hybrid, or nvidia, afterwards you can switch to integrated mode, but the audio will be tearing a lot.
so if you want proper audio, you'll probably want to be using hybrid or nvidia
PROTON_USE_WINE3D=1 -win -fullscreen -xpos 0 -ypos 0
PROTON_USE_WINE3D=1 this commands fix some audio issues on integrated graphics mode, -win -fullscreen -xpos 0 -ypos 0 this command fixes alt tabbing issue
PROTON_USE_WINE3D=1 -win -fullscreen -xpos 0 -ypos 0 -ui
if you want mods to work, i noticed that 8.0-5 proton version is much better than 5.13-6 more more info on other commands, scroll down to find my other reports on the same game. essentially, this command will make mods work, minimizing game work and so on. enjoy
You'll have to place your mods in SteamLibrary/steamapps/compactdata/(search for your tib wars directory, maybe create a save file with a unique name and search here, mine as at 24790)/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/documents/Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars/Mods (create if it does not exist)/PlaceYourModsHere
For maps you'll have to go to following path
SteamLibrary/steamapps/compactdata/(search for your tib wars directory, maybe create a save file with a unique name and search here, mine as at 24790)/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Roaming/Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars/Maps (Create if it does not exist)/PlaceYourMapsHere
Enjoy
The game is amazing, and it worked out of box (when in Hybrid or Nvidia mode), and the game is fun.
Audio tears up a lot, ONLY in integrated mode, but when i go to Hybrid or Nvidia, it just works.
The default compatiblity in my steam is "Proton Experimental"
It would run perfectly with defaults (mine falls back to proton experimental) the command fixes audio tearing in when running in integrated
PROTON_USE_WINE3D=1
The command fixes the audio tearing when running my laptop in integrated mode, if you are using hybrid, or nvidia mode, then you probably don't need this.
Game works, just needs a bit of tinkering (YR and Base game both work), also my fav game of all time <3
PROTON_USE_WINE3D=1 WINEDLLOVERRIDES="ddraw=n,b" %command% -SPEEDCONTROL
To get both games to work
- Switch to proton version 8.0-5
- download cncddraw https://github.com/FunkyFr3sh/cnc-ddraw/releases for me, Version 6.2 is what worked, where as version 6.6 did not work.
- Extract the files where your game is installed, and replace everything.
- open ra2.ini and ra2md.ini, and write your wanted resolution there granted, even though my display supports 1920x1080, i found that 1280x720 looks nice But, the menus scales weirdly for the base game (a problem that YR does not have, the menus of that game will run at base resolution)(noting that, in game, the resolution you assigned will be obeyed).
Note that number 4 is optional, you can just launch the game, and change resolution from settings, but then you'll have 1024x768 as the maximum.
Dragon_Rider had another report (scroll down, or move between pages you'll find his report).
