Played it on a gaming monitor through the official dock with mouse and keyboard. No issues experienced.
Runs natively without hassle.

PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 PROTON_NO_FSYNC=1 %command% /fullscreen 3440 1440
d3dx9 for directX9 error, vcrun2005 for multiplayer timeouts
would not start. directx9 error. after fixing that, multiplayer timeout after ish 5 min

It's a great rts and it looks fantastic on high settings.
The game works great by default and looks great on high graphics settings. With this game I really don't miss games as Starcraft 2 or Warcraft 3 that much, but it would be great if those games were sold on Steam of if Blizzard had the courtesy of not giving a damn about Linux clients.

LAN Connection seems to be unstable however. I played with my Father from his Windows Computer to my Linux Computer. After a while the game Desyncs causing a ruined game. So I had to force myself on a Windows Computer to fix the Issue.

PROTON_USE_WINE3D=1 -win -fullscreen -xpos 0 -ypos 0 -ui
No matter what I did, steam launch commands, protontricks tweaks, steam tinker launching VPN networks like radmin or hamachi, i could NOT get multiplayer to work for LAN networks. I didn't try online multiplayer.
You need to use the launch commands: "PROTON_USE_WINE3D=1 -win -fullscreen -xpos 0 -ypos 0 -ui" to play the game in borderless fullscreen without crashing when alt tabbing.
Works like a charm.
I couldn't move the game camera with the mouse using the load options below, so I just set wine to open the game in virtual desktop and that fixed the altab crashes. "env WINEPREFIX=~//steamapps/compatdata/24790/pfx winecfg"

-ui -win -fullscreen -xpos 0 -ypos 0
Leaving fullscreen and re-maximizing the game would cause it to crash. The launch options provided makes the game run essentially in borderless windowed mode and removes the crashing issue. -ui is to get the game launcher which is required to launch mods.

It works.

PROTON_USE_WINE3D=1 -win -fullscreen -xpos 0 -ypos 0 -ui
if you want mods to work, i noticed that 8.0-5 proton version is much better than 5.13-6 more more info on other commands, scroll down to find my other reports on the same game. essentially, this command will make mods work, minimizing game work and so on. enjoy
You'll have to place your mods in SteamLibrary/steamapps/compactdata/(search for your tib wars directory, maybe create a save file with a unique name and search here, mine as at 24790)/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/documents/Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars/Mods (create if it does not exist)/PlaceYourModsHere
For maps you'll have to go to following path
SteamLibrary/steamapps/compactdata/(search for your tib wars directory, maybe create a save file with a unique name and search here, mine as at 24790)/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Roaming/Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars/Maps (Create if it does not exist)/PlaceYourMapsHere
Enjoy
Everything is OK!

PROTON_USE_WINE3D=1 -win -fullscreen -xpos 0 -ypos 0
PROTON_USE_WINE3D=1 this commands fix some audio issues on integrated graphics mode, -win -fullscreen -xpos 0 -ypos 0 this command fixes alt tabbing issue

-win -fullscreen -xpos 0 -ypos 0
only in integrated mode, but when i switched to hybrid or nvidia, it went away.
game was crashing, when we alt tab, it was fixed by the custom launch options -win -fullscreen -xpos 0 -ypos 0
The first time you launch the game, you must be using hybrid, or nvidia, afterwards you can switch to integrated mode, but the audio will be tearing a lot.
so if you want proper audio, you'll probably want to be using hybrid or nvidia

game wouldnt start. the popup at the start appears and theres a black screen for a bit if -win is in the launch options.
gamemoderun %command% -win
i tried multiple proton versions, installing directx9 with protontricks, and using PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 in the launch options but all of them didnt seem to change anything

Works well if you don't use Alt+Tab
switching focus to another window crashes the game

Game will crash when switch to another application
DO NOT switch to another application
After Alt+Tab and back, game just ''self-kill''

That's Works
Impossible to Alt+Tab : The game exit.
That's works but not perfectly. Alt+Tab impossible without game exit if I play in fullscreen. Windowed not concerned.
Test with Proton 8.0.5 & Experimental.

Runs out of the box
Game crashes if tabbing out
With nVidia on Wayland there is heavy tearing and stutter due to the lack of Glamour support for XWayland. As the game is limited to 30fps and not running at the display refresh rate this becomes an issue. Otherwise it would play fine. Or you switch to X11 for this game.

Works perfectly out of the box
Make sure to go into graphics settings after launching to adjust the resolution as for some reason the game is set to the lowest settings by default, possibly because it thinks you're using an old GPU
Works out of the box

ROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command% -win -fullscreen -xpos 0 -ypos 0 -xres 1920 -yres 1200
UI elements disappeared when I first opened up the campaign. Have been fine since rebooting after the first run. Bumping the graphics settings in-game might have helped.
Needed the -win -fullscreen -xpos 0 -ypos 0
launch options as mentioned by others to allow the game to be minimised without freezing. Then needed to add the -xres 1920 -yres 1200` options to stop the game from being a tiny window in the corner.
Was not able to launch this game using Vulkan on my system for some unknowable reason. Needed PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
to launch without immediately crashing.
For some reason, this was the most painful game I've tried to get running for a while. I couldn't get this to run on my system with a version of proton other than 5.13. Looks like others have had no issues with 7 though. Also looks like others have avoided the Vulkan pain points, so my issues are likely not going to affect everyone.

-win -ui
-win is used for windowed mode so i can play borderless
-ui is used to get the original CnC Launcher to start so i can select a mod i want to play or to change the language.

If you can't set the resolution in game, then manually set the game resolutions in
compadata/24790/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Roaming/Command and Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars/Profiles/[your_username]/Options.ini
under the line "Resolution", change it to the width and height that you want, sepparated by a spacebar.
Works only with the listed proton version. I get a black screen if trying to set the resolution in-game, I went around that by setting the resolution manually in the mentioned config file. If you want to use mods, then use this guide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DUbl5EQCGzo

Runs [mostly] well.
Alt+Tabing out then back to the game causes it to break (freezes till OS prompts to kill the process).

Всё работает отлично
С проприетарным драйвером Nvidia и Proton 8.0-2 всё работает отлично "из коробки", т.е. без каких-либо дополнительных настроек и параметров запуска.
the game work great once switched back to 7.0.6 otherwise, the game crash on startup
Works perfect with Manjaro and GeForce RTX 3050 Mobile.

works great with high settings
good except for the 30 fps lock.

-xres 1280 -yres 800
Changed back layouts, some ABXY, etc for personal taste.
At the first run, you must run the game with the following arguments "-win -xres 1280 -yres 800", launch the game once before closing it again. You can now remove the "-win" part. Do all this from Lutris. After this you can run the game from the Deck UI.
In order to play with mods, add "-ui" to arguments. This will launch the window normally associated with inserting the game disc. From this window, click Game Browser, then you will find your installed mods under the Mods tab. Tested successfully with Tiberium Essence.
gamescope -e -f -U -h 1080 -H 1440 -r 30 -- mangohud %command%
-win -fullscreen -xpos 0 -ypos 0
Only caveat is to add launch options so game does not crash when alt-tabbing
Unit textures are not loaded when launched using Steam Play and only shadows on the ground appear. Fixed by running using Proton 6.3-8

Textures for characters are missing.
LAN multiplayer doesn't work.

Missing textures and assets while ingame.
Adding DXD9 DLL's to prefix fixes missing textures. By installing DXD9 under ~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/your-version/pfx if this is your default prefix. WINEPREFIX=/your-prefix/ winetricks then installing d3dcompiler_43 and d3dcompiler_47, or full dxd9 helps
Crashed on alt-tab
Game would crash when switching windows. Can be fixed using this command in the advanced launch options in steam -win -fullscreen -xpos 0 -ypos 0
Game has a hard cap of 30 fps. Seems to be an engine limitation, issue is present on windows as well.
Player's units aren't visible. Can't play the game.
Game loads and runs fine. But player's units will not display and are not visible.
