Game crashes when trying to load first real level
Crashes when trying to get to the first level (Welcome to Rapture)
The game launches and I'm able to do the plane segment just fine, but it crashes whenever I try to load the first actual segment of the game.
Works flawlessly

Crashes with the default version of proton. Works perfectly with proton-ge-custom on the chaotic-aur. Game launches fine and plays as intended without any issues. Only played through the first hour however because compared to Just Cause 3 this game controls like hot ass. Still though, it's a classic.
Game crashes when trying to load files or change settings
The game runs flawlessly on deck, but for some reason it just crashes on PC. Other people have apparently gotten it to work with a custom GE version, but out of the box you can't even get into the game. It runs the menu just fine but it can't load files or change settings.

You have to find the settings and set <Movie> to 1 just to get to the menu. This appears to be due to an unsupported and/or proprietary video codec. The first tutorial combat section is playable, no performance degradation that I can see. However when you get to the part where you have to enter your name there's a black screen and I don't know if there's any workarounds as of yet. You could theoretically play the game up to that point on windows and load your save from there on linux, but there's no guarantee that there won't be similar parts later on.
