Would not launch at all until I switched to forced experimental mode.
Mapped various in-game hotkeys to buttons
You will probably want to touch up the controls to make things easier but the game works great otherwise out of the box. I'll upload my template for others to potentially use.
gamemoderun gamescope -e -w 1920 -h 1080 %command%
Part of the bottom of the screen was cutoff by default. I used gamescope to force it into 1920x1080 windowed mode and this fixed everything.
I used gamemode because it prevents PC from going to sleep and this is an idler after all.
Seems to work great
No issues connecting to my friends' games
Great multiplayer option for Linux users
PROTON_NO_D3D11=1 %command%
I could only get this to actually run in desktop mode. The first video that plays around 1-2 minutes after starting will not play and freezes the game. After this, I streamed the game from a Windows 10 PC to the Steam Deck and the video played but I could only hear the audio even though I could see the video playing just fine on the host PC.
There is an option to disable videos which (probably) fixes the issue of the game freezing once a video is supposed to play. I still am not sure why it will not run outside of desktop mode for me.
LIBGL_DRI3_DISABLE=1 PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
The videos will still not play so you need to disable playback in the options straightaway.
Auto mode seems to quickly lose sync and pretty much just stop advancing itself.
Sometimes an addtional mouse click is needed to make the game advance (e.g., during location change scene transitions including starting the game, heading back to title screen, quitting the game). It's not annoying but it's good to be aware of so you don't wait around on the game for no reason.
Works just as well as it does on PC, just need to change system volume to fix crackling
When you open the game you must raise/lower the volume (make some sort of change) and the audio will be fine
Tried to span both of my monitors
Runs Great
I had zero issues playing this. It may have even ran better than it did on Windows with the same hardware. The shaders take forever before launching the game though.
Just mapped various in-game hotkeys to buttons.
I used the Denpasoft version which does not require an install (it just gives you the game folder directly). I also installed the "toggle" addon which works great as well.
Works Natively in Windowed Mode
Fullscreen defaulted to only showing half the game and would not show on primary monitor
After I installed the game, I had to completely restart Steam before it would launch for some reason.
Runs Natively
I typically use gamemoderun
even though I didn't indicate that so this would not be flagged as tinkering. The reason is that gamemode prevents PC from going to sleep and monitors turning themselves off and I leave the game running to farm money sometimes.
