Switched over mid-playthrough of Mass Effect 2 from Win11 to Fedora 39. Installation was straightforward with all defaults from Steam. No tinkering involved. No troubles with the EA app launching/login working. I was able to continue my playthrough right after installation.
Experienced a common issue where loading from the most recent save file may cause you to get stuck on the first loading screen on launch. To fix this issue, you need to load a prior save file, then load the most recent save file. This occurs every few sessions.
Game runs fine with default Steam settings. In regards to playing the game itself -- It started off great, but the jank unit management and restrictive tile zoning was frustrating to work around. Additionally, the slow feeding of new mechanics/units/rooms, made most of the first campaign feel like a long tutorial rather than unlocking new powers, so to speak.
