Nvidia users, install the vk-hdr-layer to get HDR to work with the Wayland driver.
PROTON_ENABLE_WAYLAND=1 LD_PRELOAD="" mangohud VKD3D_DISABLE_EXTENSIONS=VK_KHR_present_wait PROTON_ENABLE_HDR=1 ENABLE_HDR_WSI=1 %command% -showlinkingqr
PROTON_ENABLE_WAYLAND=1 Enables the Wine Wayland driver
LD_PRELOAD="" Disables the Steam Overlay and fixes the stuttering caused by it
VKD3D_DISABLE_EXTENSIONS=VK_KHR_present_wait Prevents the game from crashing due to a Nvidia bug and running a game with the Wayland driver. Without this, the gamewill crash at the first logo screen.
PROTON_ENABLE_HDR=1 ENABLE_HDR_WSI=1 Nvidia users still need the extra command in there for HDR to work and the VK-HDR-Layer installed. AMD/Intel users can omit the ENABLE_HDR_WSI=1 if they are on Mesa 25.1 or greater and don't need the VK-HDR-Layer.
-showlinkingqr Skips the PSN account requirement
NOTE: I had issues with Frame Gen and Reflex that would cause the game to crash soon after the logos. It might have something to do with Nvidia Reflex. I will have to test further to narrow down the problem and will make an updated report. For now, with both disabled and running SMAA, it runs perfectly fine without crashing.

PROTON_ENABLE_WAYLAND=1 -- Enable Wine Wayland Driver -- LD_PRELOAD="" -- Disable Steam Overlay to fix stuttering -- VKD3D_DISABLE_EXTENSIONS=VK_KHR_present_wait -- Fix for the Nvidia Wayland bug that causes games to crash when the Wine Wayland driver -- PROTON_ENABLE_HDR=1 -- For HDR. AMD/Intel users need Mesa 25.1 for HDR -- ENABLE_HDR_WSI=1 -- This enables the VK_HDR_Layer. For Nvidia users, you will need to install it to get HDR to work. -- My previous report said there is issues with frame generation. When it crashed that one time on me it must have been a fluke because it has been working without issue now.
HDR works. Got it on full path tracing, DLSS quality, Ultra and still getting 70 FPS. Looks awesome and game runs smoothly.

So far, no crashes. The game does not like mangohud. I had to take it out of the launch options.

The Native version kept crashing on me after a few minutes in game. Tried what others said and set the CPU threads and preload OpenAL and the game still crashed. Since they removed the 2K Launcher, the game would not work on Proton Experimental to Proton Version 7. Proton version 6 was the only one that worked.
Until they optimize the game, most people on lower end hardware will probably not enjoy the game without having to go to extreme measures
DISPLAY="" LD_PRELOAD="" mangohud DXVK_HDR=1 ENABLE_HDR_WSI=1 PROTON_HIDE_NVIDIA_GPU=0 PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 %command%
Lots of ghosting when trying to get DLSS frame generation to work. The clothes of characters were glitched and stretched out away from them. I am using FSR at the moment and haven't noticed any issues.
Game is not optimized at all and struggles with a 4090 to maintain a decent FPS that is above 40 on Ultra. Some of the time it drops in the low 30s depending on what is going on. I use Mangohud and the Frametime graph is never steady but spikes here and there which cause some stuttering. This game is Steamdeck verified but I don't see how owners of a Steamdeck could play this game with its horrible performance.
Command explanation:
DISPLAY="" is to enable the Wayland driver
LD_PRELOAD="" is to fix the stuttering caused by the Steam Overlay
DXVK_HDR=1 ENABLE_HDR_WSI=1 These are not needed at this time since the game does not have HDR. Don't know why a game in 2025 like this does not have HDR but if they do add it you will need these two parameters to get HDR to work in Wayland.
PROTON_HIDE_NVIDIA_GPU=0 PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 I have found that if you have a Nvidia card that you still need these two parameters. Some games will not enable features if you do not pass these parameters.
I have tried to get DLSS frame generation to work but can't. The game option is always grayed out despite confirming I am using the latest DLSS K preset. I have replaced DLLs with the DXVK-NVAPI ones, passed launch parameters, and messed with the game's console commands but just can't get it to work. And why does this game not have HDR?
PROTON_USE_NTSYNC=1 ENABLE_HDR_WSI=1 DXVK_HDR=1 PROTON_HIDE_NVIDIA_GPU=0 PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 PROTON_ENABLE_WAYLAND=1 %command%
HDR works. NTSYNC setting helps boost FPS a bit and helps on loading too a lot. Much faster load screens!

Some textures were not loaded correctly on pieces of maps, letters, and some environment walls and floors.
Minor window focus issues with mouse when opening the game menu and then going back to game.

TKG-Proton has prebuilt releases that you can download. Go to the GIT page and sign in with your Git account to download. My version, I compiled myself against the latest Wine 10.6 but you don't have to do that.
NTsync runs great on this game and there is bump in performance, FPS and better Frame Times compared to Fsync. Also the load times are better.
Runs pretty good with the Wayland driver, NTsync, and HDR. Load times are much quicker with NTsync compared to Fsync.

DXVK_ASYNC=1 PROTON_HIDE_NVIDIA_GPU=0 PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 %command%
Got HDR to work but game crashes after a bit so gave up on it. Other than that, it plays well.
DXGI_ENABLEUE4WORKAROUNDS=TRUE PROTON_USE_NTSYNC=1 ENABLE_HDR_WSI=1 DXVK_HDR=1 PROTON_HIDE_NVIDIA_GPU=0 PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 PROTON_ENABLE_WAYLAND=1 DXVK_ALLOWFSE=TRUE %command%
This game runs UE4 so I added DXGI_ENABLEUE4WORKAROUNDS=TRUE which supposed to add some HDR Workarounds. PROTON_USE_NTSYNC=1, this setting probably added 20 FPS or more uplift to my. I am able to play on medium settings at 4K and get 40-60FPS most of the time with an occassional dip in the 30s. Before, had to play on low settings and couldn't even get more than 50 FPS and dealt with all kinds of stuttering. DXVK_ALLOWFSE=TRUE, is Vulkan full screen exclusive mode used for HDR and VRR. The rest of the settins are pretty self explanatory.
DISPLAY="" LD_PRELOAD="" DXVK_HDR=1 ENABLE_HDR_WSI=1 mangohud %command% skiplogos
Going into menu, sometimes it would take a few seconds for the mouse cursor to show up. Also, there seemed to be some occasional mouse focus issues when going into the game menu and then back again.
With Vsync enabled, the game would crash if the frame rate went over 60 fps. Disabling Vsync fixes this issue.
DISPLAY="" - This enables the Wayland driver LD_PRELOAD="" - Fix for the stuttering caused by the Steam Overlay DXVK_HDR=1 ENABLE_HDR_WSI=1 - This is needed to enable HDR and for it to work. See below for more info.
Go get you a prebuilt Proton-TKG from Git. Sign up for an account to download it. For HDR to work without Gamescope, you will need to install VK-HDR-LAYER (Nvidia). AMD users need Mesa 25.1 or greater.
