Occasionally freezes when using 'Flashback' to correct a mistake you made in a lap.
Works out of the box now

Game does not start and an error message appears: "The server is not reachable, check your internet connection and click "retry""
it worked great before last update
Works great in DirectX 11 mode. Artifacts in DirectX 12 mode.
Artifacts on character selection when using DirectX 12
Game runs well in both modes. There is some minor checkered artifacts on characters when running in DirectX 12 mode. Also there was some intial lag on DirectX 11 but it was okay after that.
Works perfectly fine out of the box if you use DX11. DX12 runs but has artifacts.
Recognized my G29 wheel as well.

Se lance avec DX11, pas essayé DX12.
Il faut jouer soit en intermédiaire soit en basse Qualité, de petits accrocs de temps en temps.

Says: "Sorry, something went wrong, for solutions please visit..."
Tried with different Proton versions and tried both DX12 and DX11 but all gives the same error.
Small artifacts in the Menu and Driver Selection, but apparently the gameplay is 100%
DX12 performance lower than DX11 but probably a hardware limitation
DX12 working "Out of the box" with Proton 5.13 Impressive work of the Linux community
Performance lower than DX11 on my machine, but probably a limitation of my Hardware

No issues, I'm playing with a switch pro controller. 10/10
Ps: Using direct x 11 to run, seems to work with direct x 12 but needs some params.

DX12 works when using the launch option: VKD3D_FEATURE_LEVEL=12_0 %command%

5.11-GE-2-MF GloriousEggroll
Started game with DX11. Played with wired Xbox One controller, had no issues.
Runs great! Very happy with performance.
Occasionally stuck on "Loading..." screen. Need to force quit and restart.
Works great, select Dx11 when prompted.
Occasional infinite load screen.
you must choose the option to start it in DirectX11
sometimes the game will not begins but this happens very rarely
The performance was windows-like except for the rare game freeze. Two workarounds used as noted below.
Few times it freezes, for like a second or half a second. It's not that much, but it usually ends up in a crash, lol.
The game needs two workarounds to be playable in my optimus laptop with nVidia card. If I don't apply first workaround, game will EGO dump on start. If I don't use second, my laptop will use Intel integrated graphics (which is also playable, btw, but graphics will look awful. As it runs with whichever graphics card I use, I don't consider it a problem. As I wanted to use dGPU, it was a problem (for me)) instead of nVidia one.
First: You need to exchange exes' names. F1_2019_dx12 for F1_2019. This will allow the game natively use DX11 version as DX12 is not supported in Linux. Second: You need to add this to launch options.
"__NV_PRIME_RENDER_OFFLOAD=1 __GLX_VENDOR_LIBRARY_NAME=nvidia __VK_LAYER_NV_optimus=NVIDIA_only %command%"
Ta dáh. F1 2019 will start nicely and use dGPU by default.
Perfect experience if not played without steering wheel
Fullscreen does'nt support Alt+Tab, doing so will lead to a black screen and game process needs to be killed
On my Logitech Driving Force GT, the force feedback works partially
Wheel resistance isn't working, effects (vibration and so) works
Game runs perfectly out of the box on proton 4.2
Just rare frame rate drops on first minutes
F1 2019 works OOTB with the DX11 launch option
If the Fullscreen option is selected, and if you go to another application (e.g. alt-tab to firefox) and comeback to the game, the game will not be able to recover, showing only black screen indefinitely. (Works fine in windowed bordeless mode)
In 25h of play time, I had 6 - 7 times the "infinite loading" bug. However, since the auto-save in F1 is well made, this was not such an issue.
Does not work with DX12 option at launch
- DX12 mode doesn't work but DX11 works OOTB.
- When I am in a race and I try to go back to the main menu of the game it stays indefinitely on the loading screen and I have to kill the game. It isn't too annoying because it always occurs when I want to leave the campaign to close the game.

Pas de problème rencontrer, prise en charge de la manette XboxOne sans problème.
Je remarque de grand ralentissement lorsque je stream la fenêtre du jeu sur Discord.
steering felt like I had power steering. couldn't find option to change. F1 2017 (native linux) felt fine. Logitech G29 wheel
Back pedal on Logitech wheels is incorrectly mapped. Remap on settings fix the problem but the replays are constantly bad as the back key is always pressed

My logitech MOMO wheel was detected and the force feedback works, but it seems to be somehow inverted, where the wheel wants to always turn outwards and resists turning inwards.
Occasional stutters
The game did not start initially, but once i restarted steam it now works every time.
DX11 mode works without modifications. DX12 mode doesn't start.
Performance is good with 1440p and max graphical settings on my system. 4K resolution would require a better GPU.
Head tracking works with linuxtrack.
Only happened once.
Excellent experience out of box with no tweaks, with game set to DirectX 11.
Occasionally (perhaps 1 in 10) races the game would become stuck on the loading screen to return to the main menu. (this has happened twice in about 5 hours of play) This would be solved fine by a kill in my terminal, with a restart of the game working fine again.
G29 wheel and peddles worked out of box in PS4 mode, only had to map the accelerator and brake in the options menu.

Flawless. No Stutters. All Artefacts are now gone. High Settings 1080p Gameplay is awesome. PERFECT.
The game is playable and meets expected performance
Only once i saw a minor artifact in the background, after a restart the game was ok
Crashed sometimes on loading screen, just once during gameplay
Works perfectly as long as one doesn't mind the occasional freezing.
Squared edges, especially on people. Same happened on F1 2017.
Game occasionally freezes on loading screen.

The game starts well in DX11 mode and have a good performance with Proton.
Force feedback on G29 is completely different form Windows. When I turn the wheel to left or right i don't feel resistance. When I come back to centre i feel it hard. In windows (and the normal in all racing games) this happens inversely. The rest of the effects (kerbs, crashes, etc) seems to be normal.
The current experience is very unpleasant. Often crashes make it impossible to complete a race weekend in one sitting.
During time trial game would freeze for a second until next ghost/rival was loaded.
Very often crashes due to "insufficient video memory". It's nearly impossible to complete a single race weekend.
Had a freeze, probably random, had to reboot the game.
G29 in ps4 mode is not detected, but mode ps3 works. Only had to map it.
Sudden fps drop (time attack, spa, mercedes), was 60+ stable, went down to about 20. No reason found, I'll try to update.
The game runs smoothly for the first few minutes of a race however the FPS randomly drops massively becoming unplayable.

Career Mode full race weekend at Melbourne, solid 100+FPS 1080p at high settings, no stutters. Only thing is desktop icon does not show option to run in dx11 so it fails to launch, but launching from library play button and choosing dx11 no problem.

Works fine OOB. Had to lower graphics from Ultra to High to get better performance, but it runs just like in Windows. Haven't detect anything weird or something that affects gameplay appart of some FPS drops during first lap, but that's matter of amdgpu using Xbox controller, what it's supposed to be patched on 4.11-5.

Have carried out minor system upgrades so submitting further report. Now played 65+ Hours. I was getting occasional freezes and video memory errors. I have reduced settings from Ultra High to High and runs perfectly on Proton 4.11-2 As mentioned above there are blocks to characters such as selecting drivers but during normal game play this is minimal and does not detract from the racing experience. The Bahrain night race is phenomenal. The game occasionally fails to close when saving and exiting a race but this is intermittent. Since the release of Ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS stability has increased however I am uncertain as to if this would have any bearing. Performance is also exceptional on Ubuntu 19.04 Very playable all round and a significant improvement on F1 2018 on the same settings.

Runs without any tweaks with DirectX 11. Game sometimes crashes after career race is finished and also on night races frame rates drop significantly. While in main menu, there are some weird artifacts
