Game launches but when starting a new game it gets stuck loading indefinitely. Music plays and loading screen is animated.
I tried switching to different proton versions and switching to WineGE with no success.

I've not played very far, but I can confirm that I can start a new game and everything seems to work fine.
Without first running mf-install, the game will load to the main menu (albeit skipping an intro video), but will get stuck with an infinite loading screen when starting a new game.

Ran smoothly for me with Steam's default Proton settings. I didn't touch a thing - I just launched the game and it worked with no issues.
To get the game to startup and play correctly, I had to set the Proton compatibility specifically to 6.3-8, then everything worked perfectly.

5.21-GE-1 GloriousEggroll

It gets stuck at the loading screen.
Turns out that, for some reason, the game default to relying on Proton 4.11-4.13. I forced it to explicitly rely on 5.0.9 and it works.
Unable to play game due to bug as noted.
It seems I spoke too soon. When attempting to load Highpool, the screen is stuck saying "LOADING" with a spinning star. The game doesn't freeze, it just loads indefinitely. Waited 15 minutes, didn't pass. Anyone get past this?
Requires mf-install to be applied. Can accomplish this via:
WINEPREFIX="/home/YOURACCOUNTGOESHERE/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/875800/pfx" ./mf-install.sh
Do that from whatever folder you downloaded mf-install to.
Once the media framework is installed, the game should run just fine. If you have more than 8 cores, use the following:
Taskset -c 1-8 %command%
Game seems to run fine. Will give it a proper go and see if anything else crops up.
