The game is definitely playable and primarily stable on Linux. I don't see any reason it wouldn't be enjoyable.
Momentary stutters. 5.0.3 improved this and it was observed far less. 5.0.2 was a bit more of an issue.
VERY infrequent crash occurrence. Pretty sure that it crashed a total of two times since I've started the game till the time I finished.
It's odd as from my understanding 5.0.3 was explicitly released in order to allow for DX12, however, DX11 is the only thing that works. The game WILL load with DX12 enabled, but a few moments after the logos and legal fine print show up, the game freezes and crashes, loading up the dev bug report prompt.
Tested with DX12 via Proton 5.0.3. Works nicely. Enjoyable experience even on my old 1060 3GB.
Momentary stutters- especially in areas where you can see a lot of 3d models/meshes at once.
Requires mf-install to be applied. Can accomplish this via:
WINEPREFIX="/home/YOURACCOUNTGOESHERE/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/875800/pfx" ./mf-install.sh
Do that from whatever folder you downloaded mf-install to.
Once the media framework is installed, the game should run just fine. If you have more than 8 cores, use the following:
Taskset -c 1-8 %command%
Game seems to run fine. Will give it a proper go and see if anything else crops up.
Unable to play game due to bug as noted.
It seems I spoke too soon. When attempting to load Highpool, the screen is stuck saying "LOADING" with a spinning star. The game doesn't freeze, it just loads indefinitely. Waited 15 minutes, didn't pass. Anyone get past this?
