Not using GE-Proton9-2 will lead to pre-rendered cutscenes having showstopper issues (e.g. non-progressable black screens, "TV color test" screens, etc). This is the most up-to-date Proton/GE that fully works in my tests.
Required to turn Fullscreen off in Desktop mode, otherwise game is invisible in gaming mode.

Start in desktop mode once and change the graphics setting to "Fullscreen off"! Than you can enjoy it in regular gaming mode!

When starting the game it will stop playing audio for a few seconds like once or twice but then works as expected no matter how long i play
Local Coop worked perfectly. No slowdowns or anything
The previous reports mentioned audio issues with cutscenes but for me they worked perfectly. Audio was playing normaly and everything else worked just fine. It was plug and play

Cut scenes do not play, instead you get SMPTE color bars.
You need to go into the gear option/properties/compatibility/force proton 7.0-6
ProtonGE fixes one issue, introduces another. Neither were major issues. Stability and performance otherwise similar.
Audio missing from cutscene movies, haven't noticed any other audio issues.
Needs some options changed in the graphics menu, otherwise drops frames and below 30 FPS. Defaulted to a non-native resolution on the steam deck.
ProtonGE allows the movie cutscenes to play, but audio is missing. Default Steam Deck Proton plays some movies properly with audio, but others just give a test screen. I'd consider these minor issues, especially considering DW cutscenes aren't exactly impressively directed or written. Minor changes in the options menu to get a playable FPS without frame drops (for example turning AA off and setting the resolution to Steam Deck's native). Further testing, both with and without ProtonGE, and a longer playthrough might reveal additional issues or tweaks needed for stability. Didn't put in much time, plan on returning to it for some mindless fun.
I have tried to continue to tinker and I can't get sound working in cutscenes, I am still recieving no audio on cut scenes on GE and test bar colours on proton.
Audio Missing in Cutscense - uses wmapro
Issues with playing audio due to proprietary wmapro - using GE-Proton-7-16
The way I fixed missing sound from cutscenes just added local game fix with wmp11
wget -P ~/.config/protonfixes/localfixes/ https://raw.githubusercontent.com/sizz88/gamefixes/main/831560.py

Startup videos do not play. Menus are freely navigable, but the game hard-crashes as soon as you attempt to begin playing properly.
Valve isn't lying when they say it doesn't work on Steam Deck
Proton 6.21 GE2
Using Steam Proton results in Videos not playing. Proton GE fixes that.
Game runs great!
A stable Warriors game in proton. Getting this to run is a much more pleasant experience than the other warrior games on Steam.
Seems to mostly occur in some menus.
Cut scenes fail to load. The game will automatically skip them, but the story get hard to follow. Playing with a buddy on windows means looking at a black screen until they have watched och skipped it.

I have since played the game for at least 10 hours from my previous review lol... It currently plays pretty much perfectly with no tweaks.. One more game that works.

Reinstalled mint 19.1 with latest 4.30 nvidia driver. Installed game on my .local drive. Tweaked nothing. Loaded into game and, while being a bit choppy initially, it played smooth for at least 5 minutes using the cloud save.

I've attempted to run this in a number of ways, trying combinations of esync, d3d toggles, nothing gets past actual loading of either story mode, or battle arena. I tried disabling movies in options prior to starting either mode, and moving all setting to lowest for graphics, and still crashes when loading past either story or battle arena mode. I also tested all versions of available proton releases, on 3.16-6 boots the game up, all others crash upon start of the game immediately.

Basic with no effort, I get the initial launch page, no animation or anything, and pressing "press any key", game just hangs upon loading indefinitely with sound accelerating oddly at different intervals. Definitely borked.
