minor screen tearing is present
steam fps counter and steam community overlay do not appear to work, however the game runs at 1080p without missing textures on GE-Proton9-15

Plays fine as long as you don't scroll
scrolling crashes the game

Ran perfect OOTB!

No graphical details/textures loaded-- the landscape was just a blank flat green area, buildings were mainly rectangular solids.
The graphics were almost entirely missing, making the game completely unplayable. There was nothing on the landscape, just green, buildings were lacking textures, track was not visible when laid down, couldn't see anything in order to actually play.

No audio during gameplay
Audio worked on the title screen, but not during gameplay
Die Karte wird nur rudimentär angezeigt, Gebäude und Bäume nur schwarze Schatten. Das Spiel ist dadurch unspielbar.
I played perfectly for over 8.5 hours straight and it DID NOT CRASH. It played great right up until near the end.
After 8+ hours of playing, it started to freeze for a couple seconds when I added or removed track. Otherwise everything worked perfectly!
I played perfectly for over 8.5 hours straight and it DID NOT CRASH. Somehow this runs better for me on Linux than it ever did on Windows. I played the Northeast US map starting at 1830. I won the game at 1970, but decided to continue playing. I connected every city, bought every factory, had mail and people going to every city, and supplied every city with at least 1 resource it needed for production. In the end I had 21 trains going all over the map.
Eventually the game started freezing for a few secons when I added/removed tracks. When I added the last train.. the train started to go all wibbly-wobbly on the screen, this was around year 2070. Then the game brought me back to the win screen, but it didn't me the option to continue, so I exited to the main menu. So... it didn't crash, but I still had to stop (after 210 in-game years of playing). I think If I hadn't added that last train, I could have kept on playing.
My specs:
OS: EndeavourOS Nova 22-9 (KDE Plasma 5.26.3)
GPU: AMD Radeon Rx 5700XT (8GB VRAM
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1400
RAM: 16GB
Proton: GE-Proton7-36
In Game Graphics settings:
Screen: 2880x1620 (icons were a bit small if I went bigger on my 4k monitor)
Clouds Disabled (they got in the way a bit)
Everything else max.
Ended up playing window due to annoying alt-tab issue, likely same on windows though
Late game can be pretty slow but not unplayable
Crashed twice accross 3 hours
Not even start
Not even start, black screen, freezes OS
Works OOTB for me, no issues in 80 minutes of playing
It is functional enough for most of the game
Menu audio works. All in-game audio is silent
The lack of in-game sound is a major disappointment. The Lutris/GOG version has working sound.

game is neigh unplayable
All map topography and textures were missing, or in one case every tile for the entire map loaded into a single spot.

Too unstable
Leaving full screen makes game screen turn blank
The game started up fine for me and I was able to start the game!
Works perfectly fine
Used custom dxvk.conf file. Create an empty file named dxvk.conf on /home directory. Add
d3d9.tearFree = True
d3d9.dpiAware = True
and save the file.
Add
DXVK_CONFIG_FILE=/home/$USER/dxvk.conf %command%
to launch options. This will prevent screen tearing. After starting the game, wait for it to fill shader cache. It will take around 5-10 seconds.
Works really well.

Cuts in certain resolutions
If the window focus is changed using full screen, it remains black on return

Faithful
Crashes the same way as it does on a 64-bit Windows system. Using the 3GB fix resolves some of the issues.

Just as broken as it is on Windows. Runs after patching the 3GB flag in the executable, then crashes after a game gets too complex. Just like Windows 7.
It's not Proton, this game is just broken.

repeatedly crashed while laying second track.

Works fine out of the box, but will crash spontaneously at random intervals.

Runs fine - just some screen tearing here.

Game runs and is playable but crashes often. On one occasion had texture issue where the map texture was turned to rail.

The game crashes after ~30min. No other issues.

Started and played game for ca 15 min. Got weird graphic glitch, then crash.

Works perfectly, no issues

Crashes after 10-15 mins

works out of the box
