The game works great on my PC, with Linux Mint 22.1, which has a modest hardware for gaming.
It's a great game and I highly recommend it to anyone that likes jrpgs.

all vedio no sound
this game's vedio files use wmapro audio codec, ge proton 9-10 still no support it. but you can refer to this guide to fix video's audio issue, convert wmapro audio encoding to MP3

Works with Proton 8.0.4 true ending cutscene will not play audio I managed to find a fix messing about, these launch options fixed it.
GST_PLUGIN_FEATURE_RANK=protonaudioconverterbin:NONE %command%
Outside of the occasional mouse pointer icon showing up on screen after touching the touch pads, game runs rock solid at 60FPS.

There is no audio when playing movies.
No tinkering required; have fun!
Worked great out of the box, have had zero issues with starting game or during gameplay with 28.6 hours clocked so far. I enabled back buttons and altered some of the controls due to personal preference, but the game has an official Steam layout that is very usable if you don't like to customize your controls.
Works exactly as it does in Windows, which is to say it works as intended.
Note that I have somewhat older NVidia drivers, 470.

Stuttering.
Game didn't recognize anymore the Deck as a controller when waking up from sleep mode.
Game is running great, 60fps without any big issue. Got minor stuttering during gameplay and cutscenes (even after downloaded near 1Gb of shaders). Also, control didn't work anymore twice when waking up the Steam Deck from sleep mode. Not a big deal tho, the game is totally playable.
As a side note, with defaut settings, the game will add some red borders on top and bottom on the screen. If it bothers you, you can remove them by switching to Windowed mode in the Display options.
Cutscenese do not work

Encountered complete audio cut out once with regular proton
I encountered complete audio cut out once with regular proton 6.3-8. Besides that everything else seemed to work fine after a couple hours of game play with GE proton.

Playable. There is the issue with audio, but restarting the game will work if that happen.
7.0rc6-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
After some time playing the audio suddenly disappear
It happen as soon as the audio disappear

7.0rc6-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
The game only has XBox for its controller layout. Though This is more from the game itself rather than proton.

Graphics.cpp (255) Call error.
Tried numerous Proton and GE-Proton runners on Steam and every runner i have for Wine in Lutris and no dice. Most of the time getting a Graphics.cpp (255) Call error.
With proton 6.3-7 the audio cuts out after a few minutes of playing, but using proton GE 6.21-2 i was able to play the game without any issues at all

It looks like the game no longer support steam input. In order to play with dualshock 4 i have to disable steam input and use "ds4drv --hidraw --emulate-xpad"
to emulate xbox360 controller.
With proton-6.3-6 there is color bars instead of video, but with proton-6.15-GE-2 videos works correctly.
Game crashes on launch with error message window.

Game crashes on Launch
Tried Proton 6.3-4 and Proton-GE 6.10. None of these works.

Wanted to check if the White Shadow II cutscene freeze had been fixed in newer Proton versions, found that the game no longer launches.
So I mentioned this in my previous post it crashes at a specific point, but thought I'd throw this in here.
Only one crash after 'White Shadow II End'
The following link is a save file past that point. I don't think there are any other issues from there. (I finished the game on linux after this point) You are at level 30, and you chose Asuka as a party member. https://www.mediafire.com/folder/uex088o8hbsmup3,qs5zpss3e2k3dvs/shared You'll want to put these files in your steam prefix. (Default) ~/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/587260/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/My Documents/My Games/Aksys Games
Let me know if that link doesn't work.

Black screen after White shadow 2. 60 FPS and running out of the box until then
Runs very well with the latest proton custom build GE. Animated video cutscenes are skipped probably only bug
Starting game cutscene was skipped and most likely ending cutscene will be skipped.
Crash right after "White Shadow II" chapter. You need to find a save to progress past. No problems what-so-ever until then.
It's very enjoyable right up until it stops working after a certain point in the game.
Once when I was playing, a specific sound effect started playing over and over again. Exiting the game did not make it stop. I actually had to reboot.
About 25 hours into the game, I was met with a black screen and was unable to progress.

To run the GOG version on Lutris, I used Winetricks to install amstream, quartz, and Visual C++. The will especially not run properly if Visual C++ isn't installed. Be sure to run on D9VK as the game uses DirectX 9. After that, it runs flawlessly outside of skipping past the opening and ending movie.

Runs very nearly perfectly with no tweaks. Tiny bit of audio static and the opening cutscene does not load but no serious problems. Nice, pleasant experience with a decent framerate overall.

I just pressed play and it was working flawlessly. Locked 60 FPS, no sttuter, no graphical glitches.

On this system I've just pressed play. Everything was working out of the box without any changes. Locked 60 FPS.

Runs perfectly after adding "PROTON_USE_WINED3D11=1 %command%" in launch options. No issues with wired xbox one controller.

60 fps locked

It works fine, but there is no video playback, no antialiasing, tearing and it's hang on black screen after "white shadow II" side story.

Must specify "PROTON_USE_WINED3D11=1 %command%" in launch parameters, otherwise crashes on 3D processing. Otherwise works perfectly.

To start the game you need to add "PROTON_USE_WINED3D11=1 %command%" in the launch options. After that it runs without any issues. Played 2 hours so far with OpenSuse.
Before I used Fedora 29. Played the game for 5 hours and it was running without any tweaks out of the box, but after some time I got crackling sounds. Had to restart the game to fix that problem, then it was running just fine for 30 min or more, until it started crackling again.

Runs like the windows version. Only exception is the game doesnt pick up the 360 controller I own.

Started up fine and controller works. Once it has to start processing 3D graphics, it crashes.
