Delayed audio, possible degradation? not sure about that
screen tearing
Fullscreen would always crash the game
mouse wouldnt work, cant look around
going fullscreen or even borderless fullscreen even after starting the game would freeze my computer and put the game into an unrecoverable state

Sometimes a little to small

Perfect
Simple install and play experience, VERY near native experience.
OPENSSL_ia32cap=':~0x20000000' %command%
Bug (Intel specific) and workaround described here: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/developer/articles/troubleshooting/openssl-sha-crash-bug-requires-application-update.html
Works fine. I played approx. 1 hour without any issues.
Steam crashes on launch and game fails to start
Completely borked across Proton Experimental, 7.0-5, and the most recent GE, as well as Steam with both native and included libraries. Not sure where the incompatibility is, but runs fine on Windows.

Runs perfectly with GE-Proton7-16
Game works out of the box now including videos, but needs launch option on recent Intel CPU's
OPENSSL_ia32cap=0x20000000 %command%
Game crashes on recent Intel CPU's because of a OpenSSL related bug in Unreal Engine versions 4.13-4.21 (see issue #5830 on the Proton github). Note that this is a bug that affects also Windows users on these systems. If you have an AMD CPU, the launch option is not needed.
Starts good
Played with Proton 7.0-3

Cutscenes required the Glorious Eggroll version of Proton (tested with Proton-6.10-GE-1). The game is otherwise a perfect experience.
6.10-GE-1 GloriousEggroll

6.10-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
Glorious Eggroll Proton-6.10-GE-1
I usually prefer using the standard Steam Proton builds, but running with 6.3-5 resulted in no cutscenes. There is a lot of story in the cutscenes of Echo, so they're really needed to fully experience the game. It's probably some sort of "media foundation" glitch, but instead of trying to patch individual files I installed Glorious Eggroll Proton-6.10-GE-1 (the latest GE build at the time of writing this). Everything worked after that.
My xbox controller (PowerA brand) simply does not work.
Fullscreen needs a work around for it to work properly. First, make sure in the game settings you're running at your native resolution in fullscreen. Then, outside of the game run the command "protontricks --gui" and then select echo. Then Select the default wine prefix > Run winecfg > Graphics > Emulate a virtual desktop. Then type in your native resolution and hit apply and close out of everything. If you use different values things will get buggy.
Cutscenes dont play. This is fixed with https://github.com/z0z0z/mf-install. Dont worry about messages about using a different wine version or it configuring the prefix, steam will correct it upon launch.

Game works except videos are skipped (that are necessary to understand this game). Manually installing media foundation fixes the videos making the game work perfectly, however rating bronze because those are not freely distributable files and IMO goes beyond just a tweak.

Cutscenes only worked after I installed https://github.com/z0z0z/mf-install and I have to force the game into fullscreen via my window manager. Sometimes (but rarely) the cursor is visible in cutscenes. Apart from this the game runs perfectly and with great performance (at least 60 FPS in 1080p with maxed settings).

runs with solid performance in 3440x1440, all settings maxed. still no cutscenes.

Gameplay works great (no audio issues), but cutscenes are skipped and the game won't launch in fullscreen.

I've tried no tweaks, but the game itself runs flawlessly... it just entirely skips the cinema sequences... which, normally, you might be able to ignore, but in this game, I think their absence is just making one hell of an insane video game ten times crazier. This is a game where I want to/need to see the cinema sequences. Will research and update if I find a fix. Here's hoping, cause this sucker is AMAZEBALLS. Hall of flame material, for real.

Cutscenes don't play. Everything else works great.

Game Launches and plays but cutscenes don't play. No errors, they just don't play and are skipped. Using Proton 4.2-2. Performance mixed bag maxed out. 48-60 FPS indoors but 17-25 FPS outdoors.

Game is playable except for that videos/cut-scenes are skipped. Essentially this makes the game unplayable because all context in the story is missing.

sound issues are fixed with the new audio system in beta3.16-5

Sound volume is borked thus difficult to understand voices and sound settings don't have any effect. Otherwise runs great out of the box.

The graphics are perfect, runs just as well as on Windows 10, but the audio is completely broken, the settings have no effect at all, sounds that should be quiet hums or footsteps are extremely loud, while speech and music seems to be fine.
