(Except roach, I whistle and he wonders around on top of buildings or gets stuck on a tiny stone...)

Next Gen patch works flawlessly after patch! Beware of GOG and EPIC versions there is around 10fps less in game
HOTFIX
Crashes exiting game, error message

dx11 works fine, dx12 shows nothing
obs-gamecapture DXVK_ASYNC=1 %command%
good as long as you play dx11 I guess, I'm sad that I can't use fsr and all the fancy stuff because of that

Using Heroic as installer, since is a GOG version, the game does not properly launch in foreground when in gaming mode. I had to add heroic launcher as an external app, and run it from the heroic launcher (in gaming mode ofc).
Random FPS drops from time to time

GOG version installed through Lutris. Not possible to start with standard Proton or GE, game never loads up.
Broken?

Diary note text can get quite small, though still legible
For performance, I've personally just gone the route of 800p High settings and letting the frame rate fluctuate. 30fps looked okay and was obviously more consistent, but I wanted higher. 40fps locked introduced input lag, so I decided against it.

Has some serious frame drop during combat (granted it doesn't last too long) and AT FIRST during open world exploration. Also, swimming underwater, unless in direct sunlight, is incredibly difficult since you can't really see the object until closer inspection.
Everything else, however, is great.

All on ultra has some small stuttering in in-engine cutscenes, possibly due to lighting but I'm not sure. Otherwise, runs perfectly

The game runs almost flawlessly - FPS is Windows-like, but there are micro stutters from time to time.
Error and fix: When you try to launch the game, it claims that the GPU does not support DirectX11. Fix - just install DirectX manually, using DXSETUP.exe, which is located in "~/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/The Witcher 3/_CommonRedist/DirectX/Jun2010/".
Bugs:
- When you Alt-Tab to minimize the game and then go back into the game, it is stuck on a still image. Workaround - Alt-Tab again to the game.
- When you Shift-Tab to go to the Steam Overlay, you cannot see the mouse cursor there.
- NVIDIA HairWorks does not work.

Geralts hair will sometimes be colours other than grey, though it's usually grey. Some monsters are completely invisible (Rotfiends, Wild Hunt Hounds) though you can still defeat them, if you have the slow down time when toxic ability then you can also easily dodge and defeat them without getting hurt at all.

No Hairworks

For some reason setting the graphics to medium seems to result to better performance compared to low. I'm getting 23 FPS on average which is remarkable considering the hardware I'm using. Sometimes I also get freezes that last about a second or less, that doesn't happen very often though.
So, I'd say that performance is not the best which is to be expected considering the age of my system, but overall I think that the game is pretty playable.
I'd like to note though that on my first attempt of running the game I was using the 384.130 version of the Nvidia driver and the game completely failed to launch. More specifically, the game appeared as "running" on the Steam client but nothing really happened.
After upgrading to the latest driver from the backports repository, which at the time of the writing was 390.77, it worked perfectly though. So, be sure to do that if you're also running Stretch.

Very rare facial textures & flying creatures models missing.
