About 17 hours in and the game has been running perfectly. I did not encounter the windowing/fullscreen issue that other users described.

The video settings seem to inherit from other installs, or it does not detect proper resolution. From desktop mode, I set to 800p and fullscreen and works great in normal mode

Resolution seems to be limited to specific values, did not fullscreen on a 1080p monitor using the in-game option, fullscreening it from the window rules left a black border on the right, and bottom of the window. Wasn't really distracting though.
Works perfectly other than that.

Some thinkering required, after that it will run well. Heavy use of Right Trackpad as the game is intended for mouse controlls.
If the game won't start, switch to desktop and start it again, set it up and then start it from Big Picture.
The game starts windowed, then it will resize to fullscreen, but this can fail and starting from desktop mode will be required.
Infrequent slow downs (slow motion). Does not affect gameplay.

runs like hawking even on low settings
Game runs horrible even on the lowest settings. it also only runs on GE 7-55. proton 7, 8, and the newest version of GE (8-6) freeze at the loading screen.
No issues found
Have not played extensively, but 6.38 plays, unlike current newest. GE did not fix. Must resort to older Proton for now.
Shifting to fullscreen appeared choppy. Something about this issue appears to brick the game on 7.01 on language screen
Game window did not render anything and crashed after about 30 seconds
Works like a charm, have the pleasure to play it ;)
I have nothing to say, it works great :D

After the initial language selection, screen turns black and stays that way. Mouse cursor and SteamUI are visible but nothing else. Tested on Proton 7.01 and GE-Proton 7.14.
Beat the game with no real issues.
Fullscreen did not center correctly, leading to some UI being cut off.

The game generally crashes when attempting to go fullscreen or change to a higher window resolution in the settings menu.
FPS occasionally drops for a few seconds, most often during a battle while an attack animation is playing, or rarely on the overworld. The impact to gameplay is minimal due to being a turn-based game.
Works but sound crackly

Shows a black window on startup and nothing else
closing the game is also heavily delayed for no apparent reason.
I recommend you turn off fractional scaling before playing. Full screen is not supported on my 4K monitor, Wayland session.
Full screen causes game to crash. It also sometimes crashes when using fractional scaling on Gnome Wayland.
The game runs "perfectly" fine when running proton 6.3-5 but when changing resolutions the game hard crashes.
Workaround: Rollback to 5.13-6 and change to the desired resolution then go back to 6.3-5.
The game works fine!
After launching, the game is in majority black screen but slowly reappear as you move the cursor around. There is also a black bar at the top of the screen that is always there but did not affect the gameplay.
The game is definitely playable and arguable runs better on my machine using linux than it would while using windows.
When going between fullscreen and windowed the games screen would go black but slowly reappear as things in the game move. There was also a black bar at the top of the screen where the menu bar is, though it was not the menu bar.
No technical issues found throughout. It's essentially running natively.

Starts to lag a lot after about an hour or so of playing, but is easily fixed by just quitting and starting the game again.

Game Runs successfully, however experiences severe performance degradation during playthroughs longer than 30 min. It is not due to CPU/GPU Throttling (stable 40/50 during playthrough), and doesn't appear to be memory.

Crackly sound, otherwise seemed to run fine.

Have Linux support :D but Proton Work Great

I needed to follow the instructions to change my pulseaudio settings under the section "optimize for steam games". Basically changing sample rates and priorities. (https://ludwig.im/en/projects/steam-pulseaudio-sound-latency-lagging-problem-noise#optimize-pulseaudio-settings-for-steam-games) Now the game runs with perfect music. I'll need to test longer to see if I have any crash, but it seems great so far!

Game runs alright at full speed. The sound is slow and low quality, having lots of crackles. This may be solved with some wine/protontricks, but I haven't tested yet. I'd say xact (since it has xaudio) could solve it, bringing it to Gold. Tested: initial area, a couple battles.
