Loading times longer than expected and stuttering duirng loading screens.
Other than the loading times, No other issues were encountered. Game can be played and finished on campaign without any issues.

Loading levels always exceeds whole movie before mission so you have to wait almost 2 minutes before playing.

Alt-Tab crashes the game.
Level loading times were higher than normal, and stuttering was prevelent when loading new content (Level transitions, opening doors, etc.)

Standard or Proton Experimental the game will crash occasionally
Enable game pad in the game menu before setting steam to game pad with gyro and it will work out of the box. Smooth gameplay till it decides to crash usually around three hours in, this is no matter if using the steam recommended proton or experimental. The multiplayer counts as a separate install so I can't comment on the viability of that on the deck as I have not installed it.
Overall recommend that closing the game after two hours and then re-launch should be able to get around the crashing issue.

The constant hard crash freezes are making it very to tough to enjoy. I'm only able to complete one in every two multiplayer games.
Multiplayer Stuttering when initially starting any gameplay.
Multiplayer - Freeze requiring the game to be force killed after 10 or so minutes of gameplay.
While multiplayer can be enjoyed reasonably well when it works, I'm finding often the game will lock up entirely after around 10 minutes of gameplay.
I can only speak for the multiplayer here, I bought this on special to investigate the H2M mod being released shortly. However the base game multiplayer is causing me significant issues thus far. I plan to investigate further, potentially adjust my comments here in the near future. However in the mean timethe multiplayer verges on "unplayable" due to the inability to play more than 2 entire multiplayer games in a row.

unrecoverable GPU hangs that needed a complete system restart were experienced infrequently during normal play but consistently during the mission "mile high club" upon reaching the 2nd floor. This is with both shadow caching options on, "fill gpu memory" on and shader precaching off in settings.
Ladders were finnicky at higher fps. Trying to climb the church ladder in "all ghillied up" without immediately falling and dying was impossible at uncapped framerate.
I've tried 6.10 stable and 6.6 LTS and no dice, still get a ring gfx_0.0.0 timeout crash. Likely an issue with the kernel driver (similar to helldivers 2 driver timeout).

beim wechsel auf den desktop, kann das vollbild spiel nicht wieder geöffnet werden, es hilft ein rechtsklick auf die taskbar "move app to other monitor", ist also vlt ein problem mit multi screens
lange ladezeiten, ingame kein problem
gespielt auf max settings -unschärfe und ambient occulsion

Runs good
Turning on CACHE SUN SHADOW MAPS, CACHE SPOT SHADOW MAPS fixed the crash in Mile High Club.

В настройках игры выбрать управление джойстиком и в настройках Steam выбрать раскладку Gamepad
Русский язык и озвучка есть, игра идет на Steam OLED великолепно 85-90 fps

Using wine-ge-8-25-x86_64 through Lutris, all default settings. No stutter with shader preload set to off. Good load times. Turning on CACHE SUN SHADOW MAPS, CACHE SPOT SHADOW MAPS, and FILL REMAINING MEMORY in the game's options menu fixed the crash in Mile High Club.

Character geometry glitches in certain cutscenes.
Loading is very slow, even with shader caching disabled.
So far I have experienced crashes related to DXGI during the campaign. Sometimes the crash took the entire Wayland session with it.
"Blackout", "Aftermath", "One Shot One Kill" all crashed at particular points. The only thing that seemed to help was to run the game using the system Wine executable and try to reach the next checkpoint.
Ran at framerate cap without stutter the whole time
Mile high club mission is unplayable (freezes in 80% on second floor), sometimes it freezes.
Freezes, mostly in later missions
The shader compilation on the loading screen of each mission is annoying, freezes occasionally, freezing happens more often from the third act onwards, the epilogue is almost unplayable.

Crashes semi-consistently on some missions: Shock and Awe at the beginning shortly after leaving the helicopter, Mile High Club pretty much always before getting up the stairs.
Works mostly fine except for crashes in some missions. As stupid as it sounds, I managed to workaround the Shock and Awe crash by tinkering randomly and lowering the graphics settings temporarily, choosing different paths, going slower etc. to somehow get pass the place which consistently crashes. The rest of the game worked fine until the bonus mission, Mile High Club, which just kept crashing soon after the initial cutscene. It was somehow getting worse and worse after every restart and I did not manage to fix it, gave up and switched to Windows to get the achievement. The game is very playable and enjoyable otherwise.
Game doesn't get past its splash screen
Playable at low - medium settings. Long load times and stuttering at times but is definitely workable
load times were excessive and frame dropps occured at higher settings
stuttering
have to try various proton versions to find one that is stable (hotfix works for me)
Wants to sit at 60 but will frequently fluctate down to ~10fps - This experience was the same between max and lowest graphical settings with caching enabled.
I did not try multiplayer since the multiplayer for this game was already dead back when I played it on Windows, but the single player campaign ran flawlessly and I had zero problems.
game asks to start in safe mode every launch. just choose no.
Stutters during opening sections in each level.
Black screen with default proton.

40 frame limit/40 refresh rate. TDP 6 watts/GPU 800 , FSR/sharpness 5
Multiplayer is a separate DL of 60+gb. So I didn't install that portion. This is only reporting the single player campaign portion.
Game's framerate issues may hamper multiplayer performance, but the game runs ok at it's low framerate.
Inside the directory for Modern Warfare Remastered, there is config.cfg
and config_mp.cfg
- if you're having difficulties with the game selecting the "correct" GPU in a multi-GPU system, you can manually type in the name of the GPU as it would appear in the menu.
Game ran at ~40 FPS on 1080p LOW which seems underpowered for the eGPU in question - whether this is the game, Proton, or the fact I'm using an external graphics card over USB-C Thunderbolt, I don't know.
If the game is allowed to sit and try to "Preload Shader Cache"... it'll crash. 100% failure rate. Cancel the preload, go into the Settings menu, and disable shader preload.
Framerate issues make aiming and spotting opponents difficult.
Some of my performance headaches may be system-specific.
Yes game runs well depending on your hardware and it the loading time are normal if you put in the command
When you startup the game it will tell you your driver version is outdated but the game still runs perfectly
DXVK_ASYNC=1 %command%
The game looks bad and as their is missing stuff and you cant even know where you are shooting.
Some parts of the map was missing and some parts of my gun was missing
Game was running around 30-40 fps
Patch this maybe in the next version of proton or the one after the next please!
The game recommends a safe startup at every boot, but selecting no to this has not produced any issues.
Way too many stutters on campaign and loading times are long. H1 mod does not work. Local multiplayer is great.
gamemoderun %command%
Had a lot of stutters and performance is questionable. Things smooth out the more you play but not completly
Campaign missions take forever to load especially for the first time
multiplayer works better than campaign, performance is great and almost no stutter
multiplayer works better than campaign, performance is great and almost no stutter
Multiplayer runs fine compared to the campaign

Game hangs upon loading campaign level "Aftermath". Can't proceed campaign.
Works okayish with the adjustments mentioned here. Sometimes hangs a few minutes upon entering a campaign level after the cinematic for the first time (not to be confused with the long loading times mentioned here, too), but works pretty good after that.

It's a great experience just like windows if you just let shaders compile. (doesn't take that long)
When playing fullscreen the game would be kind of janky, but forcing borderless windowed made it feel just like windows.

Randomly lost entire saves
Crashes at specific points in game, different based on Proton version
Loading times are not bad at all with in-game caching turned on. Runs perfectly fine.....until it crashes. I think it's crashing at specific checkpoint saves. Funny thing is Proton GE will make it to a certain point and then crash at the same exact spot. Switching to Proton Experimental will get past that point and crash at another a mission or 2 later. Switching between proton versions must mess up the save because it's gotten wiped on me twice.

DXVK_ASYNC=1 %command%
With proton-ge-custom the loading times become normal
DXVK_ASYNC=1 %command%
Make sure to disable the caching options in the in-game settings menu! They will heavily degrade loading times, this is an issue on Windows as well!

Single Player is okay, but loading time of levels is not bearable. MP is not playable at all.
DXVK_ASYNC=1 %command%
No mouse/keyboard input recognized or very laggy once in "find game" screen in Multiplayer
Laggy; Mouse/Keyboard not responding; Long loading time.
If you like the campaign play it. Sadly forget about the multiplayer.
DXVK_ASYNC=1 %command%
Without async shader compilation, it may have significant stutters.

Inputs make the game soft crash (it says that the game stopped responding, but it haven't froze, it's just input that stopped being recognized inside a match)
Inputs make the game crash
Even though the game runs great on Linux out-of-the-box, the loading times are unbearable.
The loading times are ETERNAL. Like incredibly long. It takes around 5 to 10 minutes to load a level.
This issue seems to only applies on Proton. Changing Proton versions (GE, tgk, etc.) didn't change anything, nor could I find a fix elsewhere.

Unplayably choppy. Even at minimum settings.
Very stuttery
Not perfect but sorta works
Eternal loading times, sometimes crashes when loading
I managed to play it with Steam in offline mode and game in safe mode
It runs fantastically with a couple, and one major, bugs.
I was expecting, given my hardware, that I would be able to max out all the settings, but when I do the games runs at 12-15 FPS. However, I returned to default settings and it worked fine, better than fine in fact, superb! I'll have to fine tune it to see which settings are giving me the issue. Also, missions take FOREVER to load and I know it's not my drive. I'm running on a Sabrent Rocket 1TB NVME SSD.
Just the extremely slow mission load time.
