Game is work now
Using standard Proton 9.04 the game started, cutscenes worked, it saved and loaded, alt-tabbing away worked, combat was fine, audio was clean, I used my controller.
Seems like this is now platnium.

Seems to work fine once dropped back to Proton 5.13-6. By default the controls don't work on the current version. Other versions may work too but the most recent builds certainly didn't.

Absolutely no issues playing the game so far, almost completed the main story, at 35 hours of play so far. I have used both the Steam Deck and a controller and both worked flawlessly.
Worked flawlessly with default settings running Steam recommended stable variant of Proton. Latest stable build of SteamOS running on Deck
I had to change my setup to the default Proton instead of GE or Experimental, but after that It works great.
Changed from Proton GE/Experimental to Steam's default
Half Rate Shading Enabled TDP & GPU at lowest setting 5 hours of gameplay
Sometimes when you wake the system up from sleep mode, the audio becomes extremely crackly.
The game will sometimes crash when you wake the system up from sleep mode.
If one can't use the sleep mode in this pretty long JRPG without ruining the audio or even just crashing, it's not worth it.
Runs perfectly OOTB.
Game runs with zero issues OOTB.
The game works perfectly without any need of tinkering. Draws less than 7w of battery. On a full charge can be played for 5 hours.

Controls do not work. Games boots into the menu fine, but none of my buttons register. Unable to play the game.
It worked perfectly when I transferred the files manually from an external drive, but when reinstalling the game from Steam I get the aforementioned issue with my controls not working.
20 hours in on Steam Deck and it's working perfectly. Draws max around 8.5W on battery, so you can get about 5 hours on a full charge
Works well with the latest versions of Proton
Solo fue necesario instalar y darle play para empezar a jugar. Hay pequeños errores gráficos pero nada grave, algunos problemas de rendimiento podrían ser más por el port que hizo Bandai Namco que por Proton en sí / It was only necessary to install and play to start playing. There are small graphical errors but nothing serious, some performance problems could be more for the port that Bandai Namco made than for Proton itself
Game works perfectly out of the box even with controller
Works pretty much OOTB.
Game works great out of the box with controller and videos working!
Runs great so far. Just run it windowed or don't multi-task.
Alt-Tab from fullscreen froze the game and did not release the mouse pointer. Would have to Alt-Tab back to the game, the Alt-F4 to close it.
No such issues running in WIndowed mode.
Finished the Game. Everything works.
Literally nothing to report. Game works out of the box.

Problèmes de freeze soudain, pandant le jeu
Plantes au bout de 5 à 15 min de jeu
Même problèmes sur Tales of Berseria et Tales of Zesteria
Works out of the box
Played for an hour, eveything is working perfectly: Graphics, audio, inputs, battle, skits. The Silver rating is an understatement.

Not able to load into the game on any version of proton
Tried proton 5.31-2, 5.0-1, 4.11-13, 4.2-9, and none of them worked

To Play Under Linux Proton
CUSTOM : PROTON 5.9 GE-3-ST <-- Runs fine without Launch options
> MY LAUNCH OPTIONS : mangohud gamemoderun %command%
Game is working great with gamepad support
The game seems to be working great. There are some dialog that was not voice acted originally, you can check the original Gamecube version and the Playstation 3 port that this was based on, this is not a bug. To make Dualshock 4 work and if you are not using Xbox controllers, enable Steam Overlay and Playstation controller support (try other support options if you have other non-Xbox type controller) in Steam configuration and check the game properties to see if it is configured to use Global Steam input settings.

Plays perfectly. Missing character voice in some optional dialog, but not a big issue.
Everything seems ok, except for some optional dialogs that happen pressing "select", where there is no audio.
Tried the latest proton and still not showing anything.
It wasn't working on previous Proton versions for me but now working great.
The game runs out of the box, no issues to be reported here.
controller gets stuck on vibrate occasionally
Sometimes when hitting new game in the main menu, instead of loading a new game the game will hang on the main menu screen. Quitting and restarting seems to fix this though.
Works out of the box! YAY!
Just install and play on the latest Proton 5.0-6.
everything works perfectly ootb with proton 5.0-5
Works out of the box
I took a short look, it seems everything works properly now.
Unfortunately, Proton 5.0-1 doesn't help, the game still doesn't work.

The game is still unplayable via Linux Steam
Since Tales of Berseria is playable under Proton 5.0.1, I wanted to test if this game is playable now without resorting to installing a windows wine version.
Still has the same issues I'm afraid.

Still broken
On game start a smaller black window apears, it seems to be for the initialization. After that it locks 1 whole monitor and crashes. The processes are still running in the background.

In order to defeat the DRM causing the game to crash it has to be run through a Wine based Steam install. Using something like Lutris will do the trick. FMVs in game are stuttering badly and miss frames/show green frames.

A window pops up but doesn't show anything (crashes?)
