Some variances on frametime in the first stage
I encontered stutters in the Proton Experimental, which did not occured in GE version, so I recommend using Proton-GE.. I used the version 9-21, despite that the game runs great overall.

I 100% this game, all red star rings, all S ranks on the deck. I had little fun doing so, and am not quite sure why I put myself through that experience, but I digress; it works perfectly
The Game runs perfectly fine, I didn't notice any compatibility issues
Fits the Verified tag perfectly, no complaints
Load times are unacceptable.
The first time playing this I though the game froze after the first cutscene because when it starts loading a stage, it's just a static screen with the level name. No indication that the game is loading. Took about a minute for the first level to load, and then over 30 second for the levels after that. It's also a pretty bad game, so regardless of whether it runs or not on Proton I wouldn't recommend it either way.
Works perfectly fine
Worked flawlessly, no slowdown, no graphical bugs, no audio bugs. cutscenes are not super high res but thats not a linux or proton issue
Runs totally fine with Proton 6.3-6
No meu caso tive apenas que instalar e jogar.

I got it running on every Proton version below v5
Barely works and when it does run, I only get around 10-20 fps. I tried every command I found on the site, Reddit etc and I couldn't get it to work. If anyone got any ideas, that would be awesome.
In my case it worked out-of-the-box, I just had to force it to run with proton 5.
No issues
Proton 5.0 resolved the fps drops

Game will start but will crash after 1st cutscene of a new game
Cannot play the game at all. It'll play through the cutscene just fine, but as soon as you try to load into the first world, the game immediately crashes every time. Skipping Cutscene doesn't avoid the crash either. Nothing I try works at all, changing DXVK, disabling ESYNC, etc… change Proton versions or use custom versions nothing works. It's broken.
- Disable Esync to reduce stuttering
- Use D9VK to vastly improve performance
Your final launch option string for the game should look like: PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 PROTON_USE_D9VK=1 %command%
Set CPU governor to "Performance", using something like Feral GameMode. For me, the game stayed around 50fps before I set this, then it was at a consistent 60fps.
- Tested with Valve ACO driver
- Tested with Steam Controller
Tropical Coast Zone 3 has some kinda shader issue with the underwater pipes you grind through, they flash instead of look transparent. epilepsy warning for that level.
Just use D9VK by adding this to the launch options and you're good to go: "PROTON_USE_D9VK=1 %command%" (without quotes)

Game would not launch with 4.11-8 no matter what I tried.
Use d9vk to get it running smooth
Controller does not work, but keyboard does. After relaunching a few times I began to experience audio static.

As mentioned before, use D9VK for full speed. No need to use the --F command.

Runs at full speed under Proton 4.11-3. Set your launch options to "PROTON_USE_D9VK=1 %command%".

Game is playable at any resolution below 1080p. Setting it to 1920x1080 causes the game to drop from a solid 60fps to 40fps, and the game logic must run even slower because it's basically unplayable. D9VK causes the game to load to a black screen. Controller works, menus work, map works, achievements work. Tried disabling esync and it made no difference.

Works great no issues.

It's playable and mostly smooth for me with the default resolution setting. However, putting the resolution to 1920x1080 for example makes the game slow down.

No crashing, ever so slight audio glitching. 10-15 FPS frame loss compared to W7.

After latest updates, game still runs extremely slowly and no tweaking seems to change that.

like others it runs out of the box but has very low framerate. Semi playable.

The game has a poor framerate and it struggles to go near 60 fps. The game's speed is tied to it's framerate, so it will slow down a lot. You can avoid slowdowns by adding --F or --F30 in the Launch Options in the game's properties. Some parts of the game will break because of --F and --F30, so be cautious.

Runs without any stability issues or errors, but at a lower framerate than Windows. Playable.
