Wasn't able to import previous game's saves automatically, had to either do it manually in desktop mode or start games in Windows, import saves and then proceed with cloud saves on steamdeck
Works out of the box, no crashes or issues.
Runs perfectly

This games works well
It's necessary to manually copy the save file of the first game to continue the progress in this second part.
The game constantly crashes at random times, making for an incredibly frustrating experience. Sometimes it happens in the main menu, sometimes during dialogue, while traveling, or during combat.
Also, it is necessary to manually copy the save file of the first game to continue the progress in the second part.
Works good out of the box.
Completed whole game and survival mode on Linux, didn't encountered any issues or crashes.
I didn't tried import save file from Banner Saga 1.
Game ran smothely the only issue being the import of previous game's save file
Could not import previous game save file automatically, had to copy the files out of their directory and them import then manually
A few crashes. Only one of them was annoying because it crashed at the end of a fight, and forced me to do it back from the beginning.
Works flawlessly OOB with no additional config needed.
I was able to do a full playthrough with no issues. Alt-Tabbing from fullscreen produced no issues and audio was not an issue. I remember these being issues of the past but have since been fixed.
Worked with no issues out of the box
Peu de crash quand même.
Gèle permanent mais rare lors des statistiques en fin de combat ou crash lors du déplacement de la bannière dans une nouvele zone.
Les crash peuvent déplaire mal grées les sauvegardes automatiques.
The original game is already full of bugs, so I'm not sure what is caused by compatibility issues and what is not.

Proton 5.0-10 5.13-5 can't start
But 4.11-13 can start . It seems that it can't start after 5.0-10
the game seldom crashes before a battle
the game seldom moves the mouse to the bottom of the screen.
It crashed two times in all the campaing

To import your saves from part 1 you need to save file "sav_finale.save.json"
In this banner saga part game crashing in window mode, so i played in fullscreen
Save from previous game could not be found automatically because they don't share a appdata folder when using proton (as they would under windows). Copy the savegame in a accessible location to load them manually from ingame using the provided button, then it works fine.

Installs and starts fine, but black screen
I'm not getting performance issues in the menus like some others, but I'm not actually able to the play the game because the background is all-black. HUD elements and menu options are present, but everything else is black. My saved game from a Windows install was successfully brought over, which would be nice in any other case.
Parallax animations are slow and the CPU fan kicks into high gear (on my integrated graphics system) but otherwise it runs fine.
Parallax animations are noticeably slow, but in-combat character animations are just as fast as on a native system.
Pop-ups related to Achievements and Renown won may not display properly.
Performance issues are limited to menus. The core gameplay of the game(battles, dialogs, cutscenes) perform as expected.
Some hiccups and freezes in menus as well as during battles, though these are less frequent.
Minor niggles, but the game works better in Proton than the first one natively.
I had to unplug controller and plug it again to be recognized, but worked great afterwards.
It did not automatically pull finale save from the first game from Steam cloud, but worked fine after I downloaded it manually. Not sure if it is in any way related to Linux.
Some slight stuttering on intro screen and some cut scenes, nothing major.

Completed without issue, no tweaks required. Performance is sluggish in combat compared to Windows (hence Silver rating) but otherwise runs fine, and it does mean you can at least continue your saga from the first game (TBS1 save location: ~/steamapps/compatdata/237990/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Application Data/TheBannerSaga/Local Store/save)

it runs out of the box, but the performance isn't good. combat feels sluggish

Game is playable, not as good performance as first game (including old native version and with proton) as cut scenes seem ok but combat is more sluggish. Also experienced some scratchy audio issues; reducing Effects volume in game resolves this but you obviously lose the sound effects with it.

The game runs, but only in fullhd. In 4k there is just a black screen below the banner.

Window with white screen and nothing more

Not very responsive (low frame rate), but playable.

Black battlefield, black cutscenes.

Dropped frames and slow response times
