After waking from sleep, audio is cut off (at least from bluetooth headphones)
If you launch it by default, it will be a fine experience. In my case, after waking from sleep audio would not come back and the game would hitch slightly as it tried to get back in sync. After enabling Proton Experimental, audio and hitching disappeared. Even my save from the native game was pulled over to the proton version mid-run! I think my issue is I was using Bluetooth headphones, playing through the speakers may not pose the same issue
Native works perfect.
Well done Valve and Proton Team

Starts on keyboard mode, you have to change controls to Steam deck. Got stuck in Replay menu, you can't exit. "Press up + down to continue".
Get stuck in replays, "Press up + down to continue".

I was a bit unsure about a possible latency issue, but after using the calibration tool in the options menu the game seems to be working as it should! Runs and plays great!

Game works great out of the box
The game works as you'd expect it to with no tinkering required
If previously installed, you will need to reset the controller configuration options to their new default in the Steam settings, "Crypt of the NecroDancer Standard Controls (Beta)." After starting co-op, player 2 must give first input. Otherwise, player 1 will control both characters.
v3.0.0 of Crypt onwards requires Proton 7+. Launching Crypt v3 with Proton 6.3-8 results in an immediate crash. Legacy Launch (v2) still works with Proton 6.3-8.
Launching with Proton 7.0-3 works perfectly except controller is not detected. With the recent v3 updates of the game in 2022, Proton version 6.3-8 results in crash upon launch of v3. Legacy Lauch (v2) still works with controllers.
Run with proton instead of native
The native Steam Linux Runtime plays great on Deck. Haven't tried any multiplayer yet, but single player is a blast

Runs great on 6.3-8, on other versions game is very slow.
Game runs fine through Proton. Did not launch in its native Linux version.
Use Proton!!! Native is BROKEN
Native first breaks multiple monitors, and now doesn't even boot. Proton works flawlessly.

Native version crashed on input, Proton version works perfectly
For me, there were no slowness issues the previous review mentioned
Yeah it runs on 4.11 but there's no reason to, it's not smoother on Proton on 5.0 or 4.11
Runs incredibly slow on Proton 5.0

Proton version is better than native.
I plugged logitech's controller and buttons weren't properly mapped
Native version breakes my monitor setup (turns off my second monitor). Controller isn't properly mapped (don't recommend it anyway). I found it better to use proton over native version.
Runs FAR better than the native game
Gameplay is much smoother with Proton, and it works with more than one monitor unlike the native version. I couldn't tell if the game properly recognised my Steam Controller, since the game doesn't make that very clear. Overall, highly recommend using Proton over native!

Runs flawlessly.
