The freezes are common enough to seriously hinder gaming experience, since every time you reset to your last (auto) save.

Seamingly randomly the game's graphic freezes. Logs suggest a crash in the Vulkan driver.
Else I think the game runs pretty good. My GTX 1070 only slightly exceeds the minimum and the game is playable at medium/low settings @1440p. I doubt considering the used unreal engine 5 this would look much (more than the averge 10% fps) better on Windows. All in all this wrapping of DX12 via Vulkan drivers proofs to be promissing.

Sengoku Dynasty fails to launch on Intel Arc A770; DX12 device creation (0x80070057) error.
PROTON_LOG=1 VKD3D_DEBUG=trace %command%
Initially, there was a warning about low /proc/sys/vm/max_map_count. This has been resolved by increasing it to 1048576 system-wide, and the warning no longer appears in the logs. The game still fails to launch.
The game always fails to initialize DirectX 12, displaying the error "DirectX 12 is not supported on your system." (See screenshot).
The Proton log (created with PROTON_LOG=1 VKD3D_DEBUG=trace %command%) shows the following error during D3D12 device creation:

This indicates an E_INVALIDARG (0x80070057) error during D3D12 device creation on Intel Arc GPUs.
I have tried many GE-Proton versions (up to GE-Proton10-4). The game runs fine on Windows with the same hardware.
Game runs smooth with the occasional frame drop when moving a lot. Probably loading assets. I tested this for so who has frequent crashes.
DXVK_FILTER_DEVICE_NAME="AMD Radeon RX 6950 XT" %command%
Could not intially get correct resolution
The game crashed at startup without the -dx12 flag. After adding the flag it runs perfectly.
%command% -dx12

When is in Full Screen mode the game after restart forgeting the resolution and goes to 1024.
In Co op mode the game Freeze after a 15min or some place in the game, and only Force close I can do.
When I playing with my Friend in Co op mode (My friend is a Windows user) and the game is loading really slow when I try to join ~ (almost 10 minute) and during gameplay time some place or I think its random loading in memory is crashing the game.
Try to fix with other Proton version like 9.0 or 6.3.7 or Proton Experimental ~ But every single one is crash randomly with the same problem in the Co op mode with my Friend ~ Sometimes is give me a half and hours gameplay time but some times in 10 min is crash ~ It's Freezing the Screen and can hear the music in the background. . .
Unfortunately the Whole system is Freezing ~ the Cooler bearly working.
In Single player mode it's load normaly and stable to play~ around a hours player but don't get any Crashing ~ But I buy the game because of the Co op playing with my friend and unfortunately the Co op mode is what is randomly freezing.
I hope this info its enought to fix the game Co op mode ~

Some of the major issues I noticed despite trying to force dedicated gpu was
- 0% GPU util
- 5fps
- +1000ms ping

The freezing felt more like a minor annoyance to me, except the one case where I had to reboot my PC after I died.
It wouldn't load until after I manually installed dxvk through protontricks. I also ran the installer for Visual C++ 2022 but it was already installed.
The game would freeze occaisionally and, except once when I died, it only froze for a few seconds at most. In the one exception I had to reboot to get the game to load again.
It occionally froze and in one case I had to reboot my PC to get it to load the game again afterwards.
I couldn't get the game to load at all when installing from steam without tinkering. I used proton 9.0-3.

Unfortunately the game is unplayable on Steam Deck. I managed to get the main menu up but when 'loading the world' the game just stuck after 3-4 minute of attempting to load. I tried Proton Experimental too and actually my Steam Deck appeared to turn off. I tried with all of the lowest settings and in-game fixed at 30 FPS but nothing.
I really, really wanted to play the game but I just can't, so I had to refund.
Whilst not the same, I recommend Medieval Dynasty which works a treat on Steam Deck.

Due to the performance issues, I can not at this time recommend the game. For reference, this was the playtest that began on June 22, 2023

Artifacting and flashing when looking at the open sea
Saw significant performance drops. Including single digit FPS. It would alleviate itself once things were loaded into memory by the way it looked. The moment you looked somewhere else, it would happen again. Would also happen continously when looking at things like the water or open sea.
Required using the -dx11 switch. trying to force vulkan, or having no switch, caused shader compliation issues
