No problems

Works out of the box. No tinkering needed.
gamemoderun %command%

capped to 40 frames a second
No tinkering required just start the game and play!

AMD_VULKAN_ICD=RADV MANGOHUD_CONFIG="cpu_temp,gpu_temp" mangohud %command%
Slight stutters without RADV, not issues after adding the line.
framerate dips at times from 60 on max settings but otherwise great performance
It runs out of the box with Proton 7.0.5 100% flawlessly
I have played over 60 hours of the game and have earned every single achievements. Not once did it crash or slowdown. It runs 100% perfectly with Proton 7.0.5

Working on both manjarrow and steamdeack
Thought out my play through i did not tonice any minor or major issues.
Controls are good. Easy to play on Steam Deck. Graphics wise everything is on High and rarely having fps drops (Only on loading of summon video at start). 60fps gaming.
Native to Steam Deck, just install and play immediately.
No tinkering required!
Had some minor issues with stuttering in the beginning but 2 hours in and the framerate is smoother than a baby's bottom.
Some of the texts when you try to see what move is assigned to what shortcut is slightly small but not illegible.
Pick this up! If you played the original, like I have, the updates to this game are incredible. Not a big fan of Zack's english VA but you get used to it....eventually lol. The framerate, using Proton 7.05, is smooth as silk after you get past the usual shader compiling nonsense. By the time you reach the halfway point of Chapter 1, it should be smooth sailing. The graphics are great. PS4 Pro level at least. The story is nice and tight and all those weird little side missions are still there. You can really tell that this is an "on the go" game. The missions are bite sized and perfect for short commutes. If you're new to this game, I would definitely recommend you finish this game, then play the original PS1 FF7. Then you'll finally get why all the weird stuff in FF7R was making your older friends and siblings lose their shit. Enjoy!
Runs well without any changes. Trouble free so far, about 6 hours in.
Works out of the box
I did not do any extra tinkering, I just hit play and everything went on smoothly.

So far everything works great, I have been playing for an hour and everything from cutscenes works good. There are a couple of stutters for a first couple of seconds during gameplay here and there but its barely a problem.
Overall great compatibility.
Turned Shadows and AA to low settings fixed most of the issues, changed to 30fps.
DXVK_ASYNC=1 %command%
Without FSR at 640x480, the game runs at 20-30FPS. With FSR it runs at 60FPS but looks kinda bad.
Try FSR but the text becomes a bit hard to read with it.
Lots of stuttering and FPS dips in the beginning while shaders compile, but once finished game is playable on low with 30fps cap.
Frame drops happen a bit but it's not unplayable.
Bought it, clicked install, clicked play, and played for 2 hours without any issues.
Had to switch to Proton experimental to get the game to run. Have not tried Proton-GE. Game started up and ran just fine after that.
Without Proton experimental, it did not want to start up. Error would pop up saying C++ was needed to run the game.
With experimental, the game runs just fine aside from frames dropping occasionally during some fights.
Works fine with absolutely no additional configuration, haven't measured framerate but I have it set to 120fps and it definitely feels it.
fullscreen caused issues. switch to virtual fullscreen
virtual fullscreen causes a major performance drop
framerate drops on camera cuts in cutscenes
game options unfortunately transfer to other PCs with steam cloud saves

Set Framerate lock to 30 as a per game profile. Smooths everthing out on high. Besides that, runs like it should out of box.
Set framerate to 30.
- Framerate Limit set to 40
- Increased video memory to 4Gb
- 16Gb Swapfile size
- Swappiness to 1
With default configuration, there is some stuttering during gameplay
I have played just the Prologue and a about 10-15 mins into Chapter 1 and besides the stuttering I have not encountered any other problem or crash. Check CryoByte33/steam-deck-utilities GitHub Repository to learn how to apply the mentioned settings
Works as intended. Cloud Save compatible. Ran at High settings, 60fps cap with VSync on. Proton-GE optional.
VSync ON is recommended as of release build due to some unusual throttling into the 20fps marker with it disabled on Deck. This may change in a future patch, but the game is otherwise what I would consider Platinum (Deck Verified).

Has a lot shader decompilation stutter, but happens on Windows as well, possibly can be improved tinkering with UE4 variables like the FF7 remake.
100% native resolution stays at 45-60 fps, using 85% Resolution via UE4 variable makes 60 Fps possible.
The game runs well, however out of the box it with all settings as default has some frame rate issues
The game runs well, however out of the box it with all settings as default has some frame rate issues with me having lows if 11 in cutscenes and battles. I have tried changing to windowed mode with V Sync off and noticed that it dropped to 35 in the first scene leading up to the first battle with soldiers but can safely say it doesn't run as well as people on YouTube and other platforms would have you believe.
A few stutters during the beginning, but assume it's just compiling shaders. Haven't had it since 3 hours in.
Played OOTB, no extra work needed. Runs like a charm at 1440p high.
Set refresh rate and max fps to 40
Occasional fps drops, usually when loading new areas or animations.
Power consumption was surprisingly low at 40 fps (everything on lowest settings except medium textures) - never saw anything above 14 watts
