Forcefully disabled all of EOS
I use M&M's pak to disable EOS, as well as my steps to remove the EOS installer and disable it from running on launch. You shouldn't have any issues without it, but it's what I needed for a hassle-free experience with a quick boot time.

SteamDeck=0 %command%
Have to use SteamDeck=0 in order to allow controller to be used as player 1.

Playable as a 1 player game, directly on the Steam Deck. If you plan to play with an external controller for P1, it won't work...
Only the inputs on Steam Deck are usable as the controller for Player 1. There's no way to use an external controller instead. If we reorder the controllers, the game assign a (nonexistant) keyboard to P1.
Bought the game to play with the kids on the TV, but it's kind of impossible... We made it work 1 time after fiddling with the settings for an hour. It never worked since.

Изменил настройки графики на низкие и изменил частоту графического процессора на 1100 МГц.
В игре может резко упасть количество кадров в секунду, в некоторых местах это происходит часто, иногда нет.

Controller detection issues on Steam Deck and Bazzite
Additional controller detected
Game save was reset as the game can't tell which local user is the main user
The game have a hard time deciding which input device is the 1st player, often the controller is treated as the 2nd player. Need some workaround or controller reordering to solve it. The game does not support multiple save files. Major bug will occur if the game, somehow decided that the 2nd local player is the true local player, resulting in complete reset of all your progress.

Great game for the fans of the series, aside from stuttery intro videos and level selection running below 50 fps the game runs at a stable 60 fps with these settings on SD OLED:
Ambient Occlusin - Medium Particle Effects - Medium Textures - Medium (probably can be increased to very high) Dynamic Shadows - Medium Reflections - Screen Space Anti-Aliasing - High Render Quality - 100%
Enhanced Object Detail - ON Sackboy Fuzz - ON
Everything else - OFF
FPS CAP at 60

No crashes of bugs of anykind, I would highly recommend. I did not try online play, so I cannot atest to the functionality of online play.

gamemoderun mangohud %command% -dx11
- Starting problems: The game did not want to start on many occasions. Killing the process and restarting the game usually fixed the problem.
- Memory Problems: One time the game did not start. Insted it filled my RAM with countless epiconlineservice.exe processes, until i stopped it at 27GB RAM used.
- Crashes: During several boss battles the game crashed. Retrying did not help. Downgrading to Proton 7 did help.

No issues with Proton version

Prevent Epig Launcher installation by editing one of the engine ini files. See steam guides on this.
Epig Launcher tried to install. Could cancel it two times and disabled it afterwards.
Game starts stuttery in the beginning but runs smooth after a couple minutes. Loading is pretty slow from time to time.
Had a freeze in second run when opening the menu.
If you do not mind Epig Launcher software and minor startup hickups this one is just great.

Install GE-Proton to get past NAOMI boss crashing. Everything was smooth with no tinkering up until this point and after.
Cloud saves didn't work going from Deck to PC
Unavoidable crash during NAOMI boss fight; installed GE-Proton8-24 (then-latest) to get past

DXVK_ASYNC=1 %command%
On my AMD computer, the game begins stuttering after a bit of play. DX11 and DX12 both tested.
Crashes if opening the Steam Overlay

%command% -dx11
On my AMD system, the game started stuttering severely after a while only when using DirectX 12 (vkd3d)
Opening the Steam Overlay crashes the game.
Change the game to DirectX 11 instead to avoid stuttering.
TDP 9 W, GPU Clock 1200 MHz, Automatic Graphic Settings, Pre-cached Shaders
Game runs at smooth 60FPS even off of micro SD. Battery said it could go at least 3 hours with these settings. GPU/TDP settings above is for 60FPS at native resolution.
cd "/home/deck/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/1599660/pfx/drive_c/Program Files (x86)/Epic Games/Epic Online Services/managedArtifacts/98bc04bc842e4906993fd6d6644ffb8d"
затем
rm -rf EOSOverlayRenderer-Win32-Shipping.exe
rm -rf EOSOverlayRenderer-Win64-Shipping.exe
- После этого игра должна запуститься.
P.S. в случае, если игра запускается но экран всё ещё чёрный, попробуйте удалить папку Epic games:
rm -rf /home/deck/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/1599660/pfx/drive_c/Program Files (x86)/Epic Games/
Периодически, если игра запущена 2 и более часов, при прохождении уровня, на финише, когда делается фотография победителя --- игра крашится.

The intro stutters heavily when the game loads. Actual gameplay is smooth.
3-player co-op works great

Removed all launch options from inital try and went back to Steam Deck's Original Proton for Sackboy, Experimental seemed to have caused issues with lastest patch. Also moved the Epic files back to the original way and its now working fine.
I still have no idea why this game is Verified. All patches demand you reinstall the entire game then only to stop working.
-DX11
Couldn't launch the game until swapping to proton experimental and adding the launch option -DX11
cd "/home/deck/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/1599660/pfx/drive_c/Program Files (x86)/Epic Games/Epic Online Services/managedArtifacts/98bc04bc842e4906993fd6d6644ffb8d"

After latest patch this issue Borked the game
Reference to the fix however had to change file locations: https://steamcommunity.com/app/1599660/discussions/0/3494258076752268509/

Game installs and launches but freezes on initial loading screen.
The title worked somewhat decently before getting Verified
-DX11
Graphics Settings set to Medium. Refresh Rate set to 40hz
Recent update caused game to crash when trying to run Epic Games. fixed with launch option "-DX11" and switching proton to experimental
Constant shader caching in the World Map. During actual gameplay it doesn't seem to occur
Media does not work
After watching the latest Digital Foundry video about this title, I now understand why the game felt sluggish and have completely changed my settings in-game to enhance my experience.
In-Game Settings:
- Custom Preset
- Ambient Occlusion set to High
- Particle Effects set to High
- Textures set to Very High
- Dynamic Shadows set to Medium (VERY IMPORTANT)
- Reflections set to Screen Space
- Anti-Aliasing set to Very High
- Render Quality set to 100%
- Additional Effect Lighting set to ON
- Enhanced Object Detail set to ON
- Additional Scene Lighting set to ON
- Sackboy Fuzz set to ON
- Frame Limit set to 60 (VERY IMPORTANT)
Dynamic Shadows start adding ugly bright filters on top after Medium and drastically reduce performance.
Frame Limit at 60 actually makes the game feel like 60. You should watch the Digital Foundry video to understand how horrible Unlimited effects it at the time of this report.
Steam Deck Settings:
- Frame Limit 60FPS
- Refresh Rate 60Hz
- Half Rate Shading set to OFF
- Thermal Power (TDP) Limit set to OFF
- Manual GPU Clock Control set to OFF
- Scaling Filter set to Linear
With these settings the game will actually run at 60FPS with visuals almost on par with the PS5 version. Ray Tracing is not supported on the Steam Deck with this title at the time of this report

RADV_PERFTEST=aco %command%
The game played nicely during a ~3 hour Co-op session (with some slight shader stutter). The impact of the launch option above was not properly tested (with vs without); it was set just to ensure that ACO was being used for shader compilation opposed to LLVM.
30FPS cap makes the game go from 25w to 14w at worst. All fan noise eliminated
Considering how small in scale this game looks in comparison to something like Horizon Zero Dawn, performance optimization should be worked on
Browsing Action Almanac will freeze/crash the game and media does not play
Media does not play
Settings In-Game
- Fullscreen
- 1280x800
- VSYNC disabled
- Preset set to Very High
- Framerate Limit set to Unlimited
Settings Steam Deck:
- FPS cap set to 30FPS with 60Hz
- Half Rate Shading disabled
- Manual GPU Clock Control disabled
- Scaling Filter on Linear
Notes: With these settings you would be getting 2 hours of battery life with the best possible visual settings with frame rate never dropping below 30 in single player or multiplayer. Do NOT try to achieve constant 60FPS as you would have to greatly sacrifice the visuals in exchange
Minor amount of stuttering during intro at first launch. Otherwise worked perfectly.
Game works really well after installation. However it doesn't like to load without internet connection. Controls work well with default controller setup. No audio or graphical issues.
Using "bleeding edge" version of proton experimental. Initial video had some stuttering, but once game started, played for over an hour without any issues
Limited display to 45hz
Frequent stuttering on first level but smooths out over time. Happened on both low and high graphic settings.
In my experience on first boot and a fresh install of steamOS(reformatted), game booted up without issue nor tinkering. Upon first level, game will stutter as it loads assets but will smoothen out by the next level. Overall great experience.
Best played in 40hz mode to preserve battery - the game will warn you that your framerate is too low and will cause issues, bu I have not experienced any issues thus far.
On Steam Deck, the game can hold a perfect 40fps on max settings with AA off (except for the opening cutscene, may be shader cache related).
Ran very well from install, no changes. Slight bit of stuttering during intro of a new game but went away quickly.
The stuttering is a major issue
Game was perfectly smooth the first few minutes, and then it suddenly started having major stutters.
Will probably start tinkering to see if I can fix the stuttering
When opening the game on either, an error occurs that reads: "LowLevelFatalError [File:Unknown] [Line: 5089] Corrupted Index in pak file (SHA hash mismatch).

PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr %command%
I used the launch option above to enable Raytracing and DLSS but other than that my experience even during multiplayer was amazing out of the box.

VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr %command%
I added the VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr
launch option to enable Raytracing support; Didn't use NVAPI (required to enable DLSS) as I didn't feel as though I needed it. The game works great out of the box, and even in a 2 player multiplayer session it worked flawlessly.
