Works straight out of the box

Issue with playing movies, otherwise quite OK
Sometimes game stops responding during main menu; Almost always freeze when starts playing end movies

the online is trash on both windows and linux, so that's SNK's fault. hopefully once the rollback beta is completed, the online experience will be better.
PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 OPENSSL_ia32cap=0x3f2 %command%
Game would not launch because I have a newer gen intel processor. Goofing around I asked chatGPT if it could create a proton version of the windows 11 work around and to my amazement it worked. Hopefully the same command will work with other games that have the ssl issue with newer intel cpu's
1 crash in a cinematic, out of 26 hours of gameplay. Very acceptable.
The online for this game is rather laggy, but this is not an issue with Proton.
If movies are not skipped and the wrong version of Proton is used, the game could crash.
Can also use Experimental or GE-Proton if game has issues in the future
taskset -c 1-8 %command%
I had to use the taskset trick for startup options or it froze (I have a Threadripper).
Works great out of the box! No tweaking needed or launch options needed. Stable 60fps during gameplay.
You can get into the game by mashing the A button to skip all the intros
during online matches the game crashes
You wil enjoy it only if you play offline
Works perfect using Proton 7.0-3 flatpak community build.

Proton 7.0 fixed the low frame rate issue. Video playback issues may still apply, though intro cutscene played fine on a fresh prefix.
Could not find another player to test online play. Game has an extremely low player population; maybe a dozen players online at any given time.

Videos will not play unless you install media foundation libraries with mf-install (WINEPREFIX="/home/$USER/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/1342260/pfx" PROTON="/home/$USER/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/Proton 5.13" ./mf-install.sh -proton)
Videos will not play by default unless you manually install media foundation libraries with mf-install. Online multiplayer seems not to be working.

Custom Proton based on Proton-6.15-GE-2
GloriousEggroll
Due to this game seem to constantly check for devices, I had to revert commit c2c78a2
to fix it, don't know how this gonna affect other game.
see wine bug 51282.
Compiled a proton build based on Proton-6.15-GE-2
, with the following line added to patches/protonprep.sh
on line number 143.
git revert --no-commit c2c78a2fe0ac13e4fca7ab4c17977b65e358485c
I upload it on gdrive if anyone wanted to try it, but remember to use it at your own risk!!.
Proton-6.15-GE-2samsho.sha512sum
With this custom proton, I got 60fps and can watch cutscene video.
Latest game patch ruined it, ran fine before. Everything 7 FPS, gameplay, cutscenes and menu.
Runs everything in 7 FPS only, since game patch 2.32
At least Glorious Eggrolls Proton Version can run cutscenes since said patch... but not enjoyable with that terrible perfomance

Low FPS on newer Proton versions, use 5.13-6 instead. Black screen during startup is a malfunctioning video, just press start to skip.
Videos do not play.
Could not test online MP. Might be broken on Linux or just few players available.
Runs fine out of the box. Cutscenes do not work (spam buttons)
Cutscenes do not work (just spam square/7 or other buttons if you have a blackscreen, especially after the splash screens at startup) If you use Glorious Eggroll at least audio and subtitles are working for the cutscenes, just no visuals. If that is a dealbreaker to you, maybe wait and hope Glorious Eggroll might fix it. Otherwise - it works perfectly.
Force steam input to get controller working
Latest proton does not use the gpu fully, the intro movie plays audio but no visual. sometimes no auido, recommended to skip or attempt to
Had to force steam input on
Gpu not used at all stuck at 8-12 fps on menu 10 in game

As long as you don't mind the occasional crashes in online play, everything else runs fine.
Proton Version 6 and higher: Audio plays half speed. Other Proton versions: Had Audio play at double speed when starting game in windowed mode, no issues when starting game in fullscreen mode.
Proton Version 6 and higher: Game runs at 30 FPS at best. Older Proton versions perform fine.
Irregular crashes during online play with every Proton version I've tried (which so far are 4.11-13, 5.0-10, 5.13-6). I've heard the online isn't the most stable on Windows either, but haven't tried myself.
Videos won't play. Haven't applied any fixes as they are not important in this game to me.

Game works but runs slowly, even in the main menu
Game runs quite slowly, even in the menu screens
