Added holster button.
Launcher must be run at least once in desktop mode.
Some text may be difficult to read for visually impaired people.
Recommend setting max FPS to 45 for framerate stability.

Launcher would not always recognize input
Small text
Some audio would cut out completely if you stayed in a conversation too long.
Can only use one input at a time in launcher. Make sure to set as priority controller
Games played at 900p with FSR enabled.
45fps, 9Watt limit, lowered resolution to 960 x 600 and used fsr at sharpness 3.

Lost about 15 hours due to the EA launcher
EA launcher is God's plague to humans. Had many issues: first, the game would get stuck on the "Preparing" scene. Also tried to launch through the forced launcher, but nothing happened. Had to reinstall again (took about 16 hours). Lost 15 hours of saves due to this issue. Buyer beware!

Works out of the box, after the EA launcher has finished installing, and being logged in.
EA Launcher was slow to update and install, but worked.
In-game prompts, e.g. to open containers, are very small

The game itself runs fine, but the EA launcher makes it too unreliable - one day it works flawlessly, the second it doesn't launch at all.
Set 40Hz
The EA launcher makes launching the game unnecessarily difficult
I suggest waiting for the removal of the launcher to fully enjoy the game.

Cloud sync is broken
Cloud sync is broken

Assuming no issues arise with the ea launcher after an update this game works flawlessly. You can max out the settings for all the games and they run great and the hdr looks great on the oled deck.

40fps lock. TDP set to 9.
Installed Heroic Games Launcher using Discovery app in desktop mode, then logged into Epic Games account in Heroic.
Some text in game is small and difficult to read. I need to use my reading glasses when playing.
Game crashed after launch until I switched to proton 7.0-6.

Was working with proton 8.0-5, then it started crashing after loading a save/resume. I switched to experimental, no dice. 7.0-6 it is.
45fps limit
When loading game for the first time, do it in desktop mode.

After resolution of an issue in pre-3.6 Steam OS, game is working well. No issues with Proton and this game.

Some may experience issues with the game due to this issue that is scheduled to be resolved in SteamOS 3.6. https://github.com/ValveSoftware/SteamOS/issues/1257

Using latest Steam OS and stable Proton, game crashes about every 5 minutes.

External controller was not always prioritized, secondary controller worked in launcher (not primary)
Two or three crashes total across the three games and about 66 hours of playtime. Most was spent connected to external Xbox controller (wired) and TV via dock.

Despite the "not recommended" tag, this is an ideal game for the steam deck and works great.
40fps lock. Full Screen. Resolution 960x600. FSR 4. (optional TDP limit 7-9)
The first launch in desktop mode so that Origin can be installed and launched normally.
The fan is almost always quiet.

Game is slow to start due to EA login.
If you are new to gyro aiming this is a perfect game to practice on.

DXVK_ASYNC=1 %command%
Game was crashing (in menu, when playing), fixed by adding DXVK_ASYNC, no crash from then

So I’ve installed 3.5 preview on my deck and then I installed mass effect legendary edition
The problem is no matter how I try to launch it it eventually just pops up with the EA launcher. If I click play mass effect in that launcher I get an error message saying “app running”

Tried all the fixes here

Bioware's Magnum Opus, the Odyssey of Shepard, the Definitive Space Opera remastered and optimised, perfect 60 fps on the deck
Changed right trackpad click to left mouse click, set L4 to M key and R4 to F5(quicksave)
set TDP to 8 watts for around 3-3,5 hours of battery life
Usual EA app shenanigans in the background, had to log in to the app a few times, most of the times force exit and restart solved the problem
No button or joystick were recognized in main overview menu, had to use trackpad to navigate, everything worked fine in the individual games' menu
In my humble opinion, one of the best game trilogies of all time, it has incredible worldbuilding, flawless characters, captivating and intriguing story and choices with heavy impacts resonating through all three games
O jogo funciona bem.
When using a bluetooth dual shock 4, first boot it won't be recognized. You will need to disconnect and reconnect the controller while sitting on the main menu.
Can be brought down to 8-10 Watt and still maintain 60fps
BT DualShock4 not detected on boot, disconnect and reconnect on main menu
Online only game! Can't play on the go unless you have a stable connection

Tried everything suggested here, ea launcher loads but get error message when trying to launch the game.
Tried switching proton version, tried switching out ea app for origin thin client nothing seems to work.
The upgrade to Proton 8 broke things
Works great, proton 8 broke it so reverting back fixes it until they patch

Although would much prefur Game mode, Desktop works fine for this game until EA fix there app
Desktop mode and set EA to Offline mode before gong past the Mass Effect game selection
EA App will corrupt the Achievements save data while in Online mode, set the EA App to offline mode everytime you start the game up, do this before selecting what Mass Effect game you wish to play, this will prevent EA from over writing your Achievement saves
Do note this may still have an error after a few hours of play related to the EA App.. not the actual game
If you are not fussed about achievements just run it as is otherwise use desktop so you can set EA to offline everytime you boot the game
Launcher won't complete when offline
With an internet connection, the game runs flawlessly. When offline the game simply never gets past the EA launcher, making it unplayble in that state. A bummer for me because i travel a lot and primarily play on planes.
If you ever have played any other game with EA's App, the game starts and works perfectly fine, almost on Deck Verified level.
Directly on Steam Deck controlls no problem. Via Steam Dock + and wireless Switch Pro Controller, the controller is not recognized in the initial game selection menue. Emulating a mouse pointer to start on of the game works, and in a Mass effect game itself, the controller is working perfectly normal.
Some minor things like the EA app can be a bumper, but after logging in once, it does not bother you again, not even in any other EA game as it remembers the link between your steam account and your EA account. Great improvement!
Minor controller issues in the game selection screen are present, just like some other games with a "pre-launcher" have. Not perfect, but they are easy to overcome with the mouse pointer emulation.
All in all a recommendation, really enjoyable experience.

Works flawless after EA launcher dissapear (and you don't have to press anything for that)
TDP = 6, 30fps
blank EA launcher, but game starts after few seconds
Needed to launch in desktop mode once
Works great. Runs fine from gamemode after being launched from desktop once

The launcher itself kinda starts but fails to do whatever it needs to do (with no helpful message at all). Switching to Proton Experimental after uninstall/reinstall didn't work either.
It would stall, but after a while get past it but only with exp proton.
Some lag spikes when loading into a scene like inside the ship.
960x600, FSR, 48Hz refresh, 24fps, dropped TDP to 7W. Gave a longer battery life. Reversed all that when near a plug.
Sometimes stalls with EA launcher. Trying again made it work.
Crackling on wake from sleep occasionally.
Thought it can't run on Deck as steam clamed, but works out of the box. It does shows Blank EA lancher while game start, but have no issue processing at all.
you do have to use the Steam keyboard to name your Shepard, but other than that, the game runs like a dream.
Don't know why Steam is listing this as unsupported. There is an EA window at launch, but it normally stays hidden.
