Sometimes when moving fast kind of distorted sound and some crackle. But really not often.
Some performance drops - but not often and very short.
When RayTracing is enabled game freeze in intro or after a short time when re-enable it after the intro.
As already said: Works very well without RayTracing. Probleme here is the Unreal Engine 4/5. On Linux a bad optimized UE leads to crashes and performance issues especialle when RT is enabled. But in my case with maxed out graphics and a resolution of 2560x1440px it was very well playable - with some minor performance drops while fast moving.

bash -c 'exec "${@/d3d12/dx11}"' -- %command%
Latest version of game defaults to directx12 which causes it to crash on startup. Had to use bash substitution to get it to launch with directx11. The game runs fine after this is done.
When Raytracing is enabled it crashes during intro and going onto grassy area of Myst island.

The game would crash at launch, I had to set "Launch Myst in in VR in OpenXR Mode" at the game launch in order to run it.
Frequent crash until I set the game to launch in VR mode

Ray Tracing options is greyed out, unless VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr RADV_PERFTEST=rt %command% is specified
Shimmering of the overlapping textures on the hills
Almost stays at 120 FPS with Ray Tracing at 1440p

Occasional stuttering of frametime and audio when making sudden movements or viewing certain scenery (the center of Myst island and walking down from the library to the pier are particularly bad). This is significantly improved by playing with stereo audio instead of 5.1 surround sound. (So perhaps it's a niche issue with my setup?)
At the time of writing this, the game is totally borked using the official Proton Experimental. The menu doesn't work, various assets won't load, and game saves are totally borked.
However, with Proton 6.3-8 through Proton 8.0-3 (and possibly even older; I didn't test it) the game runs without issue. Other than the seemingly audio related issues, this game runs flawlessly! This is one of my favorite games and I'm so thankful to be able to play it!
With Proton 7, I had instant crashes in the game. With GE-Proton I played for an hour until another crash occurred. Otherwise game runs well

-d3d11
textures set to high and all other graphics settings set to medium. set refresh rate to 40Hz. set 3d resolution to 75%
Mild stuttering when moving to new areas, perfectly smooth otherwise.
This Is for People who may have bought the Game through Gog and are using the heroic launcher. If you are having problems with video playback try using GE-Proton7-10 with the -d3d11 launch option. This seems to have fixed my problems and seems pretty stable.

I had to launch the game using DirectX 11. This could be choosen in the first popup that Steam open when I start the game (It also allow to run in VR, but never tried that). But I've no GPU, that could explain this behaviour. Other than that, run flawlessly !

Needs Proton-GE for video playback. Crashes occasionally when interacting with certain books so save often.
Proton-7.0rc6-GE-1 GloriousEggroll

Game sometimes crashes when interacting with certain books or book pages.
Inserting pages in books seems to crash the game
In VR, menus are flickering, but in game it is fine.
Impossible d'activer le ray-tracing

6.15-GE-2 GloriousEggroll
Since fixing the WMF issues with mf-install the game has been perfect for me, including in VR.
I installed https://github.com/z0z0z/mf-install and set the launch options to "taskset -c 1-16 %command%" since I have a high core count CPU. This resolves the issue with videos not playing in the game, which is rather important for this game.
This can also be resolved by installing Proton-6.16-GE-1 which is easier, but the game will not start in VR mode with that build.
Using mf-install with Proton Experimental works properly in both regular mode and VR mode.

6.15-GE-2 GloriousEggroll
In the launch menu select DirectX11, otherwise the game won't launch with GE.
Some artifacts on the water in a particular level.
In order to fix the videos you can run the game with GE's Proton , 6.15-GE-2 in particular. Other versions of GE won't even launch.
Remember to select DX11 on the launch menu or the video will still not work with GE!

6.15-GE-2 GloriousEggroll
Use -d3d11 to run the game with DirectX 11
Some stuttering during gameplay
Crashed at least once during play, froze a few times in the menus
Without using Glorious Eggroll, none of the cutscenes play.

Proton 6.3-6 and Experimental had problems with video playback. Everything worked perfectly with 6.15-GE-2. 60+ FPS even on epic settings.
Works well, except for in-game videos
Game does not run on the Nvidia GPU (using PRIME render offloading). Runs fine on the integrated Intel GPU, at a playable framerate even on high graphical settings.
Videos don't play, instead an image of colour bars is shown (see https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/1464), which affects the Cyan intro sequence, contents of books, and various other gameplay elements. It's probably possible to complete the game without them (audio still mostly seems to work), but they are a significant part of the experience.

additionnal launch argument "-dx11". Otherwise, game won't launch with a DX12 not supported error.
Keyboard mapping forced to WASD, not reassignable for French AZERTY layout. Need to change X keyboard layout setting with "setxkbmap us" before launch (and back to fr after playing) so that I can use correct keys to move. Workaround would be using Arrow keys.

Added "-dx11" to launch options which forces the game to use DX11 instead of DX12 which causes an error on startup.
Video's do not play, mainly the little ones in the books. Not show stopping, but can be resolved with GE Proton or WMF.

The game otherwise runs great, but the missing video and crashes are deal-breakers.
All embedded videos (Cyan logo on startup, in-world book page videos) display as a test pattern.
Interacting with objects in the world (switches, etc) has a roughly 1 in 4 chance of causing the game to hang indefinitely, requiring a force-close. It was a different switch each time. Even the switch interactions that did not crash the game had some noticeable stutter. I tried running the game in Windows and none of these crash or perf issues occurred.

This game runs great out of the box using Proton Experimental.
First time the game launched, it wouldn't detect my mouse. Seems to not be an issue in subsequent launches. Initial Cyan logo video doesn't play correctly, but no issues in actual gameplay. Ray Tracing option does not work. Running on Fedora 34.
Added -dx11 flag to launch options
Video playback doesn't work (sound from the videos works) eg. Cyan logo on startup, flybys in books
Trying to put a page in a book crashes the game

When starting the desktop version: the cover image shows, and immediately crashes.
With standard configuration: Error: LowLevelFatalError [File:Unknown] [Line: 671] D3DCommandQueue->GetClickCalibration(&GPUTimestamp,&CPUTimestamp) filed at I:/Workpace/Engine/Source/Runtime/D3D12DirectCommandListManager.cpp:490 with error 80004001
Forcing Proton Experimental: Not even the cover shows, and a different error appears: DX12 is not supported on your system. Try running without the -dx13 or -d3d12 command line argument.

works great oob on Proton-6.15-2-GE on Epic settings with 100+ FPS on a 5700XT. some initial stuttering that quickly went away once the cashe's been built. Great experience.
