Native didn't work for me on Arch Linux (got an error after the developer splash screen saying "failed to initialize Steam"). Proton works perfectly, however.

Perfect out of the box.
Current Proton versions crash often, but switch to 6.3-8 and haven't had a single crash since.
It managed to get my cloud files from my windows desktop with no issues whatsoever. Very smooth, text readable and audio is superb.
Controls auto-detected perfectly too. Can't recommend playing this on Steam Deck enough!
120 hours without a single issue to speak of.
minor stutter, about once every run.
Runs perfect out of the box.
Works almost flawless, had some minor stuttering (happened 2-3 times in 36h of playtime)
Only some ingame text, like popups during battle, were on the smaller side.
Set in game FPS cap to 60 (down from default of 120)
A few occasion of small text in a pop-up notice, and sometimes when the game uses font sizes for "effect" in the "dialog", but generally large enough.
Ran smoothly and no issues.
Runs very well, only some minor performance hiccups
Slight game hiccups, but nothing too bad

Fullscreen was too big until I removed fractional scalling
If you have a HiDPI screen you are likely to use UI scaling in Gnome. Unfortunately, this confuses some games: a 150% scale screen is interpreted as having 150% of the real pixels by the game, and it becomes "zoomed".
Note that using "fullscreen windowed" and alt-tabbing the Steam window, the game gets the correct size back when in the background of the Steam (or any other) window.
Solution: set Scale back to 100% under "Settings -> Display" in GNOME (and then activate bigger fonts in the accessibility settings, if the text is too small).
Only shows a warning and closes
It showed a warning icon with a loading bar, which fills and then it closes. Tried a couple of times, while monitoring if the program is still running and it doesn't.
Works great
Had a couple crashes during my playtime, but I'm pretty sure this is not a Linux/Proton issue.

Game runs on Steam Deck perfectly out of the box without any tinkering, 60 FPS rock solid!
Proton 7.0-2
If you were wondering about the performance on the Deck, dont! It runs perfectly!
Rogue Legacy 2 runs great with Proton! Just install and play, no issues at all.
Seems like some inputs are dropped on my controller. Not sure if that's just a game issue though. No frame-rate lock.
100 Hours playtime. Zero Problems
Works perfectly out of the box
Proton 6.3-7 (Community Building) First time only freezes on initial screen. The second and successive times the game start without problems
Works perfectly, no difference compared to the Windows version
Works flawlessly. 5+ hours played.
If you're experiencing input lag, turn off Vsync.
Game works as it would on windows, though controller compatibility may vary with linux.
I know other controllers with with linux, but nintendo pro controllers nee heavy work arounds or bluetooth adapters
Game runs well. My hardware isn't new and the game runs smoothly and loads quickly, both upon launch and when changing worlds.
Sometimes game doesn't allow me to click 'A' or 'D' which made it unplayable for me
Overall good enough to be played, should probably play on better PC
Common artifacts on the characters in the lobby, their texture rectangle removes the texture behind them, just leaving the far background behind
Teleport to spot where i couldnt get out, needed to restart the run, but this is probably a game bug, not proton
