Game starts up, and allows multiplayer to be selected, however while matchmaking the game displays "There was a problem with the dedicated server" and does not allow me to play the game. Not sure if this is a steam deck issue or if its just microsoft's servers being borked.

Locked framerate to 45fps on OLED.
Works well out of the box. Multiplayer tends t erform better thn campaign, but both are very playable on the Steam Deck OLED.

Had to adjust the joystick sensitivity and dead zones in the game's controller settings. The default sensitivity is really slow and the default dead zones are really wide. I prefer the touch pads to be pretty fast. YMMV

Small text
About 37-55 fps in multiplayer game
Wouldn't load at all with Proton 8.0. I switched to Proton 9.0 beta and worked (though initially shows error when starts).
FPS not great in standard multiplayer match, but playable. Ranges between high 30s to mid 50s. Graphics all on low. Not super responsive.

usual dips down to 50 fps. Switched to BazziteOS and got much more stable 60 fps. Alo increased vram to 4 gb in bios
BazziteOS (Fedora 39)
just settings page

The first time I launched it, the text was hard to read. However, the second time I started the game itself, I reset the graphics settings and everything fixed itself
On low graphics you have stability 60 fps, really good played in multiplayer

Played with mouse gyro for aiming.
10W TDP limit in open world, 7W in smaller areas
Displays incorrect keys/glyphs when mouse gyro is enabled
A little bit of playing around with graphics and TDP, but it runs at 60fps on all low/off 800p. A couple crashes here and there, but overall really nice experience considering it's running on deck!

- 45 FPS limit for OLED
- 15 watt TDP limit
- Default low graphics preset
If Steam Deck is docked and projecting to an external display, the game launches with a black screen. Audio can be heard, but you can only force quit through Steam. This can be worked around by launching the game before connecting an external display.

Set Graphics to Low, Set minimum & maximum to either 30 & 60 or 60 & 60
Scale text larger in accessability
Maybe use CryoUtils and make sure everything is green (use recommended settings), including manually booting into the Steam Deck BIOS and setting VRAM to 4GB

Works fine once you are in a game, but switching between Campaign and Multiplayer, or sometimes entering settings, often crashes the game.
After a few Preview channel updates to SteamOS and bleeding-edge channel updates to Proton Experimental, the game seems to occasionally run now. I have no info as to what is the exact turning point.
It also appears that the display language has to be English (or at least not Simplified Chinese), or the game crashes on load. If unable to reach settings, delete the file /home/deck/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/1240440/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Local/HaloInfinite/Settings/language_selection.bin
, set the game language in Steam to English, and complete the game update if one shows up. (It is technically possible to directly edit that file, which actually just says 'chs' in my case, but just in case.)

- 45 FPS limit for OLED
- 15 watt TDP limit
- Default low graphics preset

Framerate limited to 40 FPS
Consistent hang in the initial loading screen at default settings or 60 FPS. Changing max FPS to either 40 or 30 seems to allow it to make it to the 'Press Enter to Start' screen.
CTD right after that :(

i REALLY want to recommend this game, but the screen freeze glitch has occurred to me constantly after many re-installs i cannot fix it
tried proton experimental and proton 8.0-4
made a flick stick config and made R1 shoot, L1 aim, R2 equipment and L2 grenades
the screen freezes while the game keep playing in the background, the game becomes unplayable after this happens and i have to force quit it
the already mentioned issue with the screen freezing
the game plays nice UNTIL the screen freeze occurs
i tried proton experimental and proton 8.0-4, the screen still freezes while the game plays in the background, this is a fun game i want to keep playing, but until this is fixed, i cant

The game runs just fine the way in 40ghz. Only issue that I find is the flickering in the textures.
Flickering Textures
Texture Flickering
You can download the game and play just fine in 40ghz, but the only issue is texture flickering, that can bother sometimes.

Fun FPS game, decent Halo game. Despite what most YT vids show, with some tinkering you can get 60fps
L4 = LS click L5 = RS click R4 = B R5 = A Gyro = activate on left trigger full pull as right stick
Right trackpad as right stick. Click disabled.
With optimal settings, smaller text may be hard to read, especially on external displays.
Change the resolution in steam settings to 640x400, uninstall the high res textures, use steam deck FSR settings w/ 5 sharpness, and change resolution scaling to the lowest in the game settings. Make sure every other setting is turned to low, async compute off, and min & max fps set to 60. You will maintain 60fps fairly

Game runs at a constant 60 fps if you remove the high resoltuion texture DLC from the Game's DLC Tab. All settings low. Minimum FPS set to 60.
Game does not have a 16:10 resolution under 1280x800 so FSR can not be ultilized to improve image quality.
Game crashes every few games or so. Cryoutilities huge page settings impact performance for this game.
Constant game updates can break the game.
When playing in Desktop mode, plugged mouse is dragging with input delay.
Occassional stuttering and FPS drops
Once upon a time the game crashes
Occassional crashes forcing to hard reset SD and occassional FPS drops. FPS drops happened for set minimum and maximum FPS. If you set both to the same value, no FPS drops experienced
I find the best settings at 96% resolution, lowest settings, FPS set to 48 for both min-max, exposure to 50, sharpening to 40. Stable
Login to Microsoft account can difficult
Lower every setting as low as possible. Set min and max fps at 60 to force the game to a lower resolution.
Turn off hugepages in cryoutilities if you are using it.
Lock the framerate to 30fps in the game settings. About the same experience frametime-wise as on an Xbox One.
Text is a bit small for the screen size, but still legible.
Crash only occured when forcing render resolution lower than the game officially supports, however that tweak assists with keeping frametimes in a more acceptable range.
Stuttering when swapping between armor cores in the customization screen.
Stutter is an issue without forcing the render resolution lower, but that in turn causes occasional crashing in the season 3 update.
Playable, suggest locking to 30fps or lowering render resolution in the game files for 60fps but risking crashing.
96% render res, all other options as low as possible
Runs okay, would be nicer to get some higher FPS if they let you reduce settings further (for example, AA is enforced!) and atm goes between 40-55. but it's now pretty damn stable.
this is a result of the new season it's update causes crashes as I was able to play it the night before in team snipers perfectly and post update it won't boot, I validated and rebooted twice nothing changed
Compabiulity occasionally breaks between major updates, sometimes after minor patches. Plays well overall, though.
Most, if not all menu text is fully legible. Some happen to require some squinting.
Anti-aliasing (I think that's the term?) has some room for improvement, if there happens to be any.
You'll either get around 34 - 50 FPS depending on the map, assuming you're already playing on the lowest in-game graphics config.
As of writing this verdict, combaitbility has thankfully been restored after a recent update to both the game and Steam. This is the case at least for me.
Hasn't worked since the season 3 update. Very unfortunate
During the winter update it was very sketchy trying to get Halo Infinite to stay open without crashing. Now, after season 3, it simply will not load to the title screen before closing. Tried forcing different proton versions, experimental, hotfix, forcing a smaller aspect ratio, running in windowed mode.
Hard crash to DeckOS repeatedly until it decides to work perfectly.
Scratch my previous submission. For clarification, it works perfectly at 60fps, when it isn't crashing! I wrote my last post after playing a couple of days of Halo Infinite. However, in the week since, I have found that the game will intermittently crash, for no glaringly obvious reason. It crashes most often on joining a game, but can crash at any time. These crashes will happen 2-3 times in a row, and then will stop entirely; or at least until the next time I fully reload the game, at which point it's random luck whether I'm affected again. When it's working, it's great, but this is hardly the experience people want.
Occasional crackling, not lasting particularly long.
Felt no different to playing on my desktop or xbox.
Plays almost perfectly at 60fps, only constant dips are during big team battles. To get 60fps, use the low setting preset, then turn reflections, volumetric fog quality, dynamic wind and flocking quality to Off. Most importantly, set Minimum Frame Rate to 60 and Maximum Frame Rate to Unlocked, with Vsync disabled. Then use Gamescope to ensure the 60fps cap, or lock it down to 40 or 50 if you play a lot of big team! I also personally set the GPU Clock Frequency to 1600, but that's up to you.
Game won't get past this when connected to my home network. Connecting to my cellular internet via Hotspotting fixes this issue tho. But that's not practical. Some weird internet issue. Works fine on my desktop tho.
Borked, seems the game is skipping a bunch of loading info since the first load screen before the menu loads in less then 3 seconds.
other GE versions failed too.
I had to connect my Bluetooth keyboard in order to sign into Xbox live.
It was only once out of several matches played.
Halo Infinite does not seem to support the two buttons on the back of the deck.
I was in the room with someone on an Xbox who was also lagging, it seems like it's Halo Infinite Server issues not related to my deck.
The game consistently outperformed my cousin's Xbox One S, keeping at a consistent 40-50 FPS with default settings.
Some text was a little bit too small. I just scaled it up in the settings.
On the game mode "Oddball" it just crashes. Well... it loads but after the introduction animations of your team it just freezes and then crashes
It sometimes froze, but after a little bit of playing, it stopped freezing very often.
It runs very well, it sometimes freezes at the beginning, but after a little bit of playing it just lags.
Freezes midgame, randomly crashes during menus sometimes.
Set to 40 fps
had to run script to unload echo-cancel
plasma grenades go through enemies and matchmaking is ass
