- Lowered graphics to medium settings
- 30 FPS Limit

Game works perfectly fine out of the box, but with only one issue relaed to deleting saves.
Deleting save data in-game on a Steam Deck doesn't work. Tried checking the save data location (.local > Steam > steamapps > compatdata > 1235140 > pfx), and nothing shows up that would help. No real solution has been discovered, either.

Resolution set to 1152x720; turned FSR on steam and set to 3 sharpness. Render resolution at 80%. Locked at 45fps/90hz, 12w TDP. A little over 3 hours of smooth gameplay on my OLED at 60% brightness.
Every text is small, but readable.
Some fps dips in populated areas, on the high 30s.
Pretty much playable OOTB. May improve battery life by adjusting in-game and steam parameters, with a little bit of graphical compromise, but definitely not a dealbreaker.

The game works fine with the default settings, locked @30fps, but since for some reason steam uses Proton 6.3 as default, upgrading it to Proton 8 (or even better GE-Proton 8) yields a much more stable FPS. With Proton 6, in the initial zone it's hard to have a stable 30fps when walking in the streets, but with GE i got locked 30

Tested the GOG version installed through Lutris. No changes to the settings were necessary but changing the Wine version to GE-Proton did give a slight performance increase

With CryoUtilities, runs at 60fps 720p or 30fps 1080p. Otherwise, runs at around 40fps at 720p, so put on a framerate limiter for 40hz. Performance aside, it runs perfect with no bugs or problems.

Some text is very small and becomes nearly illegible with a lower than native resolution (which shouldn't be necessary anyway)
For the most stable gameplay I opted to use the 30 FPS limit in Gamescope; don't use the ingame frame limiter as it adds a lot of CPU load that runs the battery dry much quicker. Frame pacing will be imperfect no matter what you do, that just seems like Dragon Engine jank

I only adjusted the framerate cap to 40 or 50fps when I was on battery, otherwise I mostly played while charging/connected to a wall outlet.
A little hard to read sometimes but wasn't a dealbreaker for me
Occasional crackling when resuming the game from sleep
I played on medium settings with realtime reflections and motion blur turned off. I played the majority of the game on the Steam Deck and I think the last 2 chapters on my Linux desktop.

Runs great capped at 30 fps through Steam. Unstable FPS using a 40hz refresh rate, full power, & vsync disabled.
11 watts TDP
Rare audio crackling
Game doesn't like 40hz refresh rate. Went with 60hz capped at 30 fps.

Force GPU to 1200.
A few UI elements are hurt by low-render scale, not too big of a deal.
Stable 40hz on medium can be achieved with GPU capped at 1200mhz if you lower the rendering scale. I don't believe stable 60 is possible with any settings (unless you make the render-scale comically low to a GameBoy Advanced level.)

40hz, 40 FPS steam lock, 60 FPS in-game lock. 10-watt TDP, Medium settings with real-time reflections off, 85% in-game render scale. This gives roughly 3 hours of battery life
Small map hud among other things, but nothing impossible to see
i used proton 8 just to avoid installing a new version of proton, i also ran the game off an SSD connected to my dock so i cant comment on battery life, that being said the game runs well and looks decent, it supers dualshock 4 glyphs which is a huge plus for me since i use the DS4 when i play docked
TDP set to 10 watt, provides around 2 hours of battery life, give or take.
Text is small because of the screen, but is legible. If using lower resolutions with upscaling, the text gets squished and harder to read.
Game's own fps lock causes highly varying frametimes leading to unpleasant feeling controls. I recommend using the Steam Deck's built-in framerate limiter, which seems to alleviate this issue.
Resolution set to 1280x800, in-game resolution scale set to 85% with framerate locked to 30. Medium settings, with High textures and realtime reflections and motion blur turned off. This provides a near locked 30 fps, with only the occasional drops when lots of special effects are on screen (during battle, for example).

30 fps lock, lowered resolution to 1152x720, graphical settings set to medium, TDP set to 9 watt.
Had to disable steam input in desktop mode for Xbox One Controller vibration to work.
Xbox One Controller vibration did not work until disabling steam input. The controller was wired.
Text can be a little small, particularly street names on the map.
I played the game at 960x600 with FSR enabled, medium-high settings. Locked at 30FPS.
The only setting you could potentially turn on in order to make the performance tank is real-time reflections. Otherwise, this game runs without any issue and is one of my personal recommendations for JRPG enthusiasts who want to try something on Deck.
Runs great once you set fps to 40 and lower render resolution. Great jrpg on the Steamdeck.
Alittle small, definitely made for a bigger screen but not completely unreadable
Some crackling, not dristracting
Render resolution set to 87%, limit fps to 40 in steam
Small text and lower fps is a good compromise to playing this game handheld.

Perfectly fine way to play the game, it's just pretty noticeable that the game wasn't meant to be played on a small screen
30FPS lock
text is still readable, but it's still pretty small
very rare audio stutter
cutscenes have a border around them
Lock the game to 30 FPS.
The UI is overall desinged for a bigger screen. While readable, it could be better
Lock the game to 30 FPS, otherwise its a bit rocky.
Some of the menus and screens arent made with the Deck's resulution in mind so they'll have a border around them. I recommend locking the framerate to 30 as mentioned a few times before. The game usually hangs around 40-ish during gameplay, but there are constant dips and rises.
