When set to fullscreen, game starts windowed. Need to toggle fullscreen setting to have it actually use fullscreen on each launch

Have to set Proton version to 9.0-4, otherwise crashes when trying to join multiplayer.

Joining a server crashes to desktop unless you run Proton 9.0-4

Works farily well
When the game starts, as a workaround, you have to switch to window mode and then back to fullscreen mode to fix mouse a focus issue. Naturally, only keyboard shortcuts can be used for this trick.
With the exception of the full screen bug, everything seems to work perfectly, at least with the default graphics settings.

Unless FSR3 is selected for anti-aliasing, shadows flicker/vibrate when they move (e.g. from the sun).
The starting area (outside) maintains 70-80 FPS on 1440p max quality. Given how the game looks, I'd have expected more than that. It's also extermely GPU bootlenecked.
Game goes into lauch, does not bring up menu

Switch to windowed and back to full screen
Force Proton version to 9.0-4, otherwise joining multiplayer crashes the game. Have to switch from fullscreen to windowed and back for fullscreen to work properly.

Verbindung zu einem Multiplayer-Spiel funktioniert nur mit einer bestimmten Proton-Version (9.0-4).
Singleplayer/Hosting funktioniert ohne Tinkering. Aber wenn man zu einem Multiplayerspiel verbinden möchte, dann muss es Proton 9.0-4 sein. Andere Versionen habe ich nicht zum Laufen gebracht.

Singelplayer works, Joining a server (fresh or with progress) does not - crashes straight to desktop
Singleplayer works, HOWEVER: After the recent two updates (latest 21.05.2025) i have not been able to join a server. Once the password is entered the game loads for a bit and crashes straight back to desktop, no error given. It also doesnt matter if i try and enter a newly setup fresh server or one that has also an excisting savegame with progress in it

Very occasional glitches with lighting fixed by restarting (worse with earlier Proton versions).
Game will crash trying to connect to multiplayer server unless I join using Steam's built-in server list or by joining a friend already in game via the Steam friends list. Game would crash the whole desktop manager due to GPU errors shortly after loading into the world until I set the launch options to use AMD's driver.
Note that GPU is an RX 9070, which isn't immediately obvious from the system description.

Crashes when joining multiplayer games
none of the fixes posted or any proton version work past the main menu. SinglePlayer works

I did need to tick the _"Force compatability"_-checkbox and just select ´Proton-9.0-4´ then everything works.
Proton-9.0-4 works fine
As stated before the game works without any limitations on Proton-9.0-4, but it seems my Steam-installation does not use it by default.
Multiple other Proton-versions do not
With default-Proton singleplayer and own locally hosted muliplayer games work fine, but it crashes consistently when connecting to remote servers. I tried Experimental, Hotfix, 10-0.1 (beta ) - with all those versions the crashes do occur.
Vulkan-Shaders take a long time to compile
Compiling the Vulkan Shaders takes at least 30 minutes on my system (the step before the game launches). The compilation step in the main menu is way faster.

After the latest update, I had to switch back to Proton 9 to get the game running online. Otherwise, it is working fine if you're the host.

Consistently crashes when trying to connect to remote games
PROTON_LOG=1 %command%
Tryed the game with default proton, as well as hotfix, experimental and 10-beta. In all test cases the game works fine while playing locally - either alone or if friends connect to my game. But it crashes every time, when trying to connect to a remote game.

Crashes in multiplayer
I was able to start a local session and have my friends join me. However, when attempting to join either a dedicated server or a friend's session the game crashed to desktop. Viewing the logs it seems to be a memory issue:
double free or corruption (fasttop)

Downloaded GE-Proton 10.1 to fix issue with server connections after the major update in May-25

Mouse clicks cause game to minimize
Crashes when you switch between menus too fast. Also, when trying to join a server by IP crashes on loading screen. I think it's because of the latest update of the game itself.

MANGOHUD=1 %command%
Followed another user's post. Using the command MANGOHUD=1 %command% with GE9-27 made the game run buttery smooth for me. Not sure why. Performance was the same or better than Windows 11 in my experiance. Just need some adjustments.

gamescope --force-grab-cursor
Using Fullscreen windowed casues the mouse input to fail, cannot interact with game window.
Had to revert to proton 9.0-4, newer Proton 10 and GE-9.27 both result in crashing joining servers.

UNable to join existing server, only new worlds load fine

i used proton 9.0-4

It just works
No minigames. No launch options. No custom version of proton. Just downloaded and launched. Overall an excellent Linux experience. The game doesn't run that well, but it doesn't run that well on Windows either.

Nice game with fun for many hours of exploring and building
Works great out of the box!

Cursor was able to leave game (--force-grab-cursor would work but introduced black flickering with my hardware)
I was in need for gamescope as the interaction using the mouse was not possible using the base game

Works perfectly
No issue with the game. You have to let it compile the Vulkan shaders BEFORE starting the game so it doesn’t show the message a second time (and yes it takes time, apparently the shaders are compiled with the CPU and not the GPU when out of the menus). After that the game works flowlessly. Running Enshrouded server on a Linux computer also works fine, but it has to be launched with Wine on a console, it doesn’t work when launched on Steam.
Without the tweaks, I had issues with the mouse - running hyprland. Force grabbing the cursor fixed it.
gamescope -W 5120 -H 2160 -r 60 --force-grab-cursor -f -- gamemoderun %command%

Game stuck on Preprocessing
Took over 2 hours to process vulkan shaders, and once that completed, it never got to the main menu after an hour

Stuck on Preprocessing
Displays "Preprocessing" when first launching the game and remains like that even after waiting 10+ minutes. Tested with Proton 9.0-4 and Experimental. Running Fedora Sway Atomic using Steam through Flathub. Letting it pre-compile all Vulkan shaders and verifying integrity of game files doesn't help.
Works flawlessly

although the game was not ready to play out-of-the-box, with minor thinkering in the launch options the game was running just fine
gamescope -W 1920 -H 1080 -r 144 --force-grab-cursor -- %command%
a lot of black flickering, gamescope helped
everything works, had to disable stream pre-cache because it took way too long for no reason, tried running with and without and for same results, so other than gamescope
no other tinkering was required

Almost no poblem but i had to note it

Works very well with experimental Proton. However, the game always starts in windowed mode, even if fullscreen is selected in the settings. You need to go into the game's display settings and re-select fullscreen
