Works great, raytracing is a no-go.
Raytracing dropped FPS from 160 to 40. It's not really "unplayable" on my hardware, but for a racing game it's not ideal at all. Turning the quality down from Very High to High made the game run at 160+ FPS.
Tried Time trial and Breaking point, everything seems to work very well. I used a Logitech G920 whilst playing and was amazed that everything was plug and play, beautiful experience (apart from Logitech GHub not being on Linux so wheel calibration was slightly off).
The major issue is just raytracing, turn it off and the game runs brilliantly.
Game used to work, now freezes when you get a loading screen before the race. Tried 8.0.3 and Experimental, both same issue.
Older versions of Proton will crash in rain.

Há algumas falhas nas árvores, quando você passa por elas, elas ficam estranhas
No Proton Experimental o jogo fica travado na tela de avisos..... No ProtonGE, funciona normalmente... Uma curiosidade é que se eu minimizo o jogo, quando volto, o desempenho piora.... Na primeira vez que abro o jogo, ele roda na média de 30 a 40FPS.... Se eu minimizar e voltar, ele passa a rodar a 25FPS
The game starts but I don't see understandable video. Just some strobe lights, only audio.
gamemoderun DXVK_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 PROTON_HIDE_NVIDIA_GPU=0 DXVK_ASYNC=1 %command%
Using these launch options and GE proton build makes the game work flawlessly on my system, including rainy sessions. I origionally found them under a post on the ProtonDB page for getting DX12 working on BF5 and wondered if it would help here, sure enough all problems fixed.
Game does not crash with rain with latest Proton version
fps drops to 30 when tabbing out
It crashes when i start time trial. Not good
Works perfectly, out of the box, with default proton
Works right out of the box.
Awesome experience, for Dualsense users:
- Disable steam input.
- No haptic feedback, it does feature very nice rumble effects however ( may be fixed in the future, follow github proton issue #5900)
- No radio enginner on dualsense speaker, may even be an issue on windows...
btw to be honest i did use proton-ge out of routine but proton-ge doesn't have custom patches that would interfere for f1 2021, i'm just lazy to re-test using vanilla proton.
NO RAIN CRASHES, at least on my meager but very playable hardware :)
It plays fine, performance is okay, but it crashes every time wet race is loaded, so unfortunately i cannot recommend playing on Linux
During intro cutscenes before races textures are very buggy
10-15% slower than on Windows
Crashes everytime wet race is played
During career mode with a wet session (practice/qualifying/race) you will crash when loading without being able to do anything.
Crashes whenever rain is present, stable otherwise
Game crashes when you try to race with the rain

I just set up my microphone as a default input device in winecfg for voice recognition during race.
I needed to enable Steam Input override otherwise it would keep registering both triggers as half-pressed on XInput mode of my 8BitDo Pro 2 gamepad
Some glitched textures on character models pre-race happened once but never again.
Due to the complete system crashes when raining you can't progress far in either career or online
Textures are sometimes flickering or missing in cutscenes at the beginning of races
The whole Steam Deck crashes when rain is present
starts no video
The game starts but I don't see understandable video. Just some strobe lights. If you have any commands to use at launch ... The audio works.
Game starts, but crashes in career mode
The game starts with crackling audio and crashes, when you go to podium pass. If you avoid that, and you try to start a career, the game freezes in the loading screen before the first race and crashes after that fully.
Wet races crash the entire Steam Deck - needing a hard reset. Can't progress further into career if you don't have another device to play on
Crashes when races are in wet conditions - will effectively halt your progress if you encounter this issue and can't launch it on another device.
Aside from the wet race issue, it works very well on the Steam deck. Tried default Valve recommended proton and proton experimental, along with various GE builds, but none fixed the issue.
Seems that save does not load and game crashes if the next session has full wet conditions
Game crashes in full wet conditions
Game crashes in full wet conditions
Game crashes in full wet conditions. Other than that, no other issues found
Game would hang when loading into any race.
Game freezes when trying to load avatar selection when starting career mode.

The game crashes all the time in wet races. It seems to be stable in dry races.
The game works well except in wet races where it crashes frequently and can even lock up the entire Steam Deck.
PC would crash when loading into second GP in career mode. Haven't experienced other stability issues.
Of the social play lobbies, I was only able to join beginner. Playing leagues with friends works without issues.
On proton 7.0 I had no force feedback on my wheel. I recommend switching to experimental.

I tried to play at 1080p fullscreen on a 4k monitor, but weirdly the game was still rendered at 4k, even though the 1080p option was selected. Changing the desktop resolution to 1080p and then launching the game solved this issue.
Splitscreen mode worked out just fine.
Game used to work but is now crashing on startup.
I get an error message with a dead link when I start the game.

I tried validating reinstalling, validating the files, deleting the
compatdata
folder. When it used to work, it worked perfectly with Proton Experimental with my g27 wheel.
Loads to the menu but crashes as soon you load into a race
A recent update somewhere seems to have fixed the rumble in the Xbox One control pad.
Game starts, but crashes when starting any race or time trial
Game starts, but crashes when starting any race or time trial. The menu works, but runs very poorly. This seems to be related to pascal cards but not amd or newer nvidia cards.
Works out of the box, plays perfectly
Human characters on the Grid have luminosity applied. Cars in the Showcase can have weird lighting reminicent of PS1/PS2 GT lighting on the highlights Some clothing during the grid sequence is metallic
Plays at 120 FPS locked. Occasional crackling of audio during loading/menus. 100% playable. Only crash was trying to run the benchmark on Spa in the wet for 5 laps.

Rare freezes when saving. Doesn't seem to be a Linux specific issue.
Works extremely well with both Logitech G29 and Xbox One controller. I used Oversteer with the new-lg4ff drivers for the G29.
Game freeze when I try to start a race
I confirm the game does not work on GTX1070.

Audio with Buxton was missing.
Crashed a few times between races.
Runs at 60fps on ultra settings. Game is stored on XFS partition. Barring the odd crash, it's a very pleasant experience. Have had no input problems between MKB and Xbox One controller.
Rumble not working
No rumble/haptic triggers on Xbox Series controller, connected via USB.
Quite a bit of a performance hit, but still playable.
My Fanatec DD1, Formula wheel and V3 pedals were detected but there was no force feedback.
The game runs smooth, no crashes or graphical issues.
