Limit to 30fps and enable upscaling
Ocassionaly I need to use the touchscreen to launch the game from the secondary launcher but this is very infrequent and not an issue

Game as-is works fine, but I really wanted Dualsense Haptics. Previously I had no luck with standard proton versions. When turning off Steam Input, the Triggers would work, but not the feedback as it's supposed to be. Then I tried different Proton versions like this one here https://github.com/ClearlyClaire/wine which actually worked on my Desktop PC. No luck here, but I was not ready to give up! Finally, now it works with this Proton: https://github.com/verbumfeit/proton-ge-custom-dualsense/releases/tag/GE-Proton8-4-Dualsense
It's super easy, you just download the .tar.gz, move it to the ~/.steam/root/compatibilitytools.d
folder, unpack it using 'extract here' and after that you need to restart Steam (or the Deck) for it to show up. Then simply select it as you would any other Proton with Cyberpunk. Make sure Steam Input is disabled and Dualsense is connected via cable. Haptics should now work.

I had tearing even when lowering the graphics settings to the lowest options. I didn't enjoy it on the Deck on a Linux PC with adequate Hardware it will run smooth with FSR3 and Frame Gen

Some of the smaller flavor text is too blurry to read.
Prob goes without saying but be patient when uploading/downloading your cloud saves. They take a minute with this one.
It's Cyberpunk. It crashes at least once every few hours no matter what system you play it on.
Not exactly the way I would primarily choose to play this game. But if you already got a good PC at home and just want to take your save with you to run through some Gigs on your break at work? I can think of worse ways to play the game.

when i used the proton 9.0 i had sound output delay
use proton experimental

Sometimes, the interface would display small text or text blurred by FSR. This happened very rarely though.
Gyro controls when using my Nintendo Switch Pro gamepad were extremely laggy. Didn't experience this problem in other game or when using Gyro playing handheld.
I have finished Cyberpunk 2077 and Phantom Liberty expansion on the Steam Deck.
While I have experienced framerate drops in Phantom Liberty, overall the experience was extremely stable.
CDP broke the game for me by releasing 2.13 (heavy graphical artifacts appered), I have fixed this issue by switching to Proton GE.
I have then played most of Phantom Liberty and the entire ending of the game with FSR 3 and I could even up the framerate cap to 40, which lead to smoother performance and more stable image quality.
I can recommend this game on Steam Deck.

Rarely
Steamdeck OLED
FPS : 45
Manual gpu lock : 1600
In-game
Custom preset
Resolution scaling : AMD FSR 3, Auto, 1
Framegen : AMD FSR 3
TEXTURE : Low
Controls
CONTROLLER Sensitivity : 35
Right trackpad : as mouse

Mostly stable 30 fps, frame drops here and there when loading in a new area before regaining stable fps again.
Area of Phantom Liberty suffers the most from this, but was still an enjoyable experience from start to finish. Tweak settings to your own liking and enjoy straight out of the box!

--launcher-skip
Lowest settinges except volumetric clouds and color precision at medium. DOF and Lens Flare on. No antialiasing, no image reconstruction, native 800p with 30fps lock.
Very smooth and consistant experience, the game retains it's beauty and clarity despite the low settings thanks to a beautiful art direction and not using FSR.
Also, one of the few games that will automatically recognise which main input is being used, if you play docked with a duelsense and decide to undock and play on the deck the controls will automatically adjust without needing to change controller order in the steam input settings.
Amazing game to play on the deck.

--launcher-skip
The interface text is blurry. Especially the pop-up text about picked up items. It's completely unclear. The same goes for the phone/car icons at the bottom left.
Due to FSR, objects leave traces when moving. This is especially noticeable on cars.
Infinite saving if cloud saving from CD Project is enabled and if there are problems with the Internet connection
Often there is a strong throttling, which is treated only by restarting the deck by long pressing the power button. On the positive side: it happens when the battery is about 20%, and does not happen when the deck is connected to the charger
yes

This is related to the installation: If you want to play with another audio than English, select it in the installer before installing.
I own the GOG version. Works without many major hiccups. Some areas will face slowdown with the default Steam Deck presets. Other than that, works like a charm.

Works basically perfect. Well, as perfect as a demanding game like this can work on a handheld.
You can click play in the launcher with a controller but everything else seemingly has to be done with mouse input.
Some text on the HUD is pretty small, don't think there's any way to make it more readable.
Inconsistent framepacing, fixed by setting a SteamOS framerate cap of 30. It increases input lag slightly but it's a tradeoff worth making imo. Do not disable the ingame framerate cap that's set by default, doing so will make the input lag unbearable.

WINEDLLOVERRIDES="winmm,version=n,b" %command%
Install both d3dcompiler_47 and vcrun2022 if you want to use mods. No need to install both if you want to play completely vanilla (without any mods at all)
The GUI can be hard to make out at times, as well as NPC dialog
Steamdeck isn't exactly the most powerful device. Game mostly runs at a steady 30fps, but some areas have slowdown.
Using the Steamdeck default preset without any tweaking on the OLED and just turning on HDRscRGB, and changing maximum brightness to 1000 instead of the default. YMMV for HDR, you might prefer the SDR appearance.

Still dont understand what kind of sorcery how this game can runs better on Steam Deck rather than a PS4.

Had to invoke the KB manually and use the touch screen to navigate
IMHO, the game is well and truly unplayable at the framerates you can achieve with the deck, or really any handheld PC. you are looking at the lowest possible graphics quality the engine can give you and you will be very lucky to get 24fps. For a first person shooter game, this is just not usable. Performance very regularly dips well below and can sit in the mid to low teens, 10-15 FPS range in battles. This is literally N64 FPS or lower in most cases.
For a game that is deck verified, it's pretty funny how bad it runs even using the Steam Deck preset. If this is what the developers think is a usable experience in any capacity I would strongly disagree.

There are text size options in the game's settings, but still some HUD elements are a little bit too small in my opinion
Based on GOG DRM-free version of the game, added to library as non-Steam game running with Proton. Using "Steam Deck" graphics preset and FSR set to Performance mode I can get up to 60 fps, but usually it's at average of 40 to 50.

WINEDLLOVERRIDES="winmm,version=n,b" %command%
40Hz/40FPS maximum
Sometimes the text is a bit small, especially NPC Dialog subtitles.
Steam Deck LCD running bazzite:39.
Used Heroic Launcher to install the GOG version and added to Steam. Using GE-Proton8-28 and the game itself runs well without crashes.
Installed REDmod and bound console to the R5 key.
Highly recommend to check out HerrTiSo's report about the graphics settings, and shoutout to natyo3100 for the 720p FSR recommendation as it helps a lot in Phantom Liberty/Dogtown.
Occasional audio crackle when suspend/resume gameplay, however opening the game menu before initating suspend seems to solve this.
About 30 hours into the base game, and 7 into Phantom Liberty.

I own this game on GOG, used the Lutris GOG install script.

Resolution via Steam: 1920x1080; Medium Preset with a few settings changed to high; Framerate limited to 30 FPS via Steam; Runs stable
Possible to control using stick or D-Pad, but pretty unituitive

Max Frame rate 40 (80hz)
By default upscaling is enabled, which makes text extra hard to read.
It feels like audio is little late and very poor quality. (default settings)
Game dips into 20 fps even on low settings. Related to map areas.
Graphical settings: Disable scaling, set every other option to low or off. Video settings: Fulscreen, Max Resolution, Max FPS 40. That is in my opinion best balance for graphics, framerate, fan noise and more than 2 hours on Steam deck OLED Battery.

--launcher-skip
Set FPS cap to 30fps (Using game limiter, lower latency), SteamDeck preset is excellent as a baseline.
Expect potential dips in performance in heavier areas, but in general a pretty great showing for the Deck.

Steam Deck default settings too slow for my taste
Steam Deck graphical settings are somehow better than low.
Recommendation: Start with Steam Deck settings, then lower settings, and increase the frame limit to 45. Played 3 hours after downloading, with a pre Phantom Liberty save. No problems and little to no stutter (frame drops so far only noticable when rendering V's starting apartment, and to about 30 frames).
Finally able to fight MaxTac. 10/10 would get curb stomped again.

Drops to 5fps randomly after recent update, no matter what settings are used
Don't bother till they've fixed this random fps drop.

--skip-launcher
Force down to 8 watts
Due to recent update, fps periodically drops to 5.

Used Cryo utilities with recommended settings
The following settings allowed 60 FPS with beautiful results for graphics

30 fps and lowered settings
updated ingame font size settings

Sometimes I have to hold the Steam Deck closer to my eyes (30-50 cm) to read the mission texts.
You get 2 black borders on the top and bottom of the screen, as the game only seems to support 16:9
The game is fine if you don't mind holding the Steam Deck closer to your face to read some of the text. I'm getting about 30-40fps out of it. Doesn't seem to dip below 30, or it's at least not noticable.

see notes below

Inventory screen can be really hard to read, and I usually have no struggle reading on the deck screen.
The game is honestly pretty amazing here, as it has a pre-set graphics settings specifically for the deck. I recommend changing the upscaling settings to Quality, as it makes the game look WAY better with little performance impact. Game runs very well and consistently, and I haven't experienced any deck specific issues, just general issues 2077 always had. Amazing way to play this game.

NPC quotes quite difficult to read
Steam Deck graphic preset is quite a mess, I got a(n almost rocksteady) 30FPS experience tinkering with the settings (at cost of the battery life)
- FPS locked on 30
- AMD FSR quality - 1
- high texture quality
- antisotropy 8
- LOD high
- all other setting on medium (a couple low)

this game runs near flawlessly on steam deck, well worth a play

--launcher-skip
30 FPS Cap, Using FSR 2.1 Quality Preset
Don't recomend using the Steam Deck preset as it'll struggle to maintain 30 fps. Changed Graphics settings to a mix of Low (mostly on shadows) and Medium settings (especially crowd density) paired with built-in FSR 2.1 to Quality allows for a pretty stable 40 FPS. You can get around 45 - 50 FPS with the Balanced Preset, but I wouldn't recommend it. I would use CyberFSR over FSR 2.1 as it yields better results from my experience, but unfortunately as of this report CyberFSR hasn't been updated for patch 1.63 Hotfix yet. Still capped it to 30 FPS to save a slight bit of juice.

--launcher-skip
Not techically trouble but I reccomend applying the launch option I used to skip the red launcher and just going strait to the game, makes it feel more seemless and console-like.
Some very fine text not vital to gameplay in menus and in the UI are illegible or very hard to read, things like Current Weapon names and small visual flair around the hud. As well as while in the crafting menu, the amount of ammo produced when crafting it is extremely hard to make out to me. However none of these are major issues and all the vital info is legible.
On the "Steam Deck" preset on foot traversal through the city ran a decently solid 30fps with occasional drops down to 29-27fps, with vehicles moving at full speed through the main city areas it was also mostly solid at 30 with more frequent but short dips to 29-26fps, nothing unplayable and very enjoyable. At my personal settings which was the "medium" preset with some edits such as turning Film Grain, Chromatic Aberation, and Depth of Field on, Moving Motion Blur to "High" (no real difference with these just preference), Screen Space Reflections moved to "High", Ambient Occlusion lowered to "Medium", and Mirror Quality dropped down to "Low". All running at a Native 800p with no upscaling. With these full speed travel in a average car would see a near constant 27-25fps which is very playable and on-foot was sitting at 30-28fps. Which is still playable and a good option if you want a native res picture.
Just know the 30 lock will not be flawless and 60 is off the table.
Its a very impressive showpeice for the deck, and being able to get a near perfect lock if you lower some settings down to about medium and engage FSR is very admirable and deliver a great portable experience.
The tinkering I made is by no means required and if you just download and start the game without looking at settings at all you would effectively be carrying the PS4 version around with you, which is a great experience.
V-Sync set to 30 in-game and cap framrate to 60 in performance settings
