game works out the box using proton experimental the menu background doesn't load but the game runs out the box.
game runs out the box if not perfectly only issue is the main menu background doesn't load but that's a very minor issue everything works other than that.
everything works no issue with multiplayer
in your linux settings for ubuntu go to apps search steam and make sure you have play and record permissions are on then in steam settings/voice set your mic and audio this makes sure microphone works correctly in game.
nothing much else to say works out the box
game runs perfectly fine with default proton no tinkering required on my current system/ubuntu lts and latest nvidia drivers 570
While the game runs as it stands right now the game is not out a out of the box experiences for Linux user with similar hardware.

freezing on loading into a mission freezing opening the door to the house
the biggest issue is the freezing on map load, door opening and if you change any settings it freezes for at least 15 to 20 seconds before it runs normally again.
it's playable but not smooth at all the issues I came across through the different versions of proton I used not just GE-Proton didn't make for an enjoyable experience.
the game runs smooth with the latest GE-Proton9-27 I found other versions game me performance issues.
I will continue to try the different versions of proton but the one that gave me the best experience was GE-Proton9-27 I will go back and try 9.0.4 again with my graphic settings now set to how I like them I might see similar performance with that version.
