Before the fixes the game would hang on the "CD Project Red" screen, while playing sound and crash 1-2 minutes after.
To fix:
- Delete config file (solution found here in post nr 13). The file seems to be renamed to user_prefs.json in ~/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/1091500/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Local/Programs/CD Projekt Red/REDlauncher/web-engine-storage/persistent/
- Switch proton version
- Use boot options above
Plays fine now.

tl;dr: Works out-of-the-box if installed on an ext4 partition.
First install was on a NTFS partition, which didn't launch the game and resulted in an OSError: [Errno 22]. Fix found here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/221410/discussions/8/1736589520008504698/ After a reinstall on ext4 partition everything works fine.
