It just works. I have been playing for quiet a while and so far no performance related issues at all. Only issues I have come across are, when quitting to desktop, an error appears and BloodstainedRotN-Win64-Shipping.exe turns into a zombie process.
Game seems to run well enough, but cannot be played past a certain point due to crashes.
The game would crash at around the same spot every time depending on which proton version I was using. 5.13-4 would get me about 10-15 minutes in, while proton experimental would get me a few minutes past that point.
Runs perfectly after making the adjustments to the config files mentioned below. The 4.57 issues were also fixed by the solutions below. Overall everything for the most part works, and the frame rate, although not as high as on Windows (about a 20-30fps difference in spots), is still at a more than playable level.
Persistence and a custom proton is key with this one, after your in the campaign runs great.

The game will try to connect to Xbox Live servers repeatedly and fail or the game will have a "Fatal Error" and crash. With this version of proton, I had to try over and over, but at about the tenth try it worked.
The glowing eyes of characters is rather distracting, and as some textures are not displaying correctly, it takes away from the puzzles.
Odd glowing around the eyes of characters and from the film grain effect.
Some textures, specifically photographs would not display correctly.
Other than the glowing eyes and textures issues, everything else seems to have been working as normal.
Works perfectly out of the box for the most part.
Only issue I see is the cursor might flicker on occasion, but it is far from game breaking
There is a little wait at the first startup but subsequent startups were much shorter. Plays like a charm with controller support. No tweaks necessary.
There were some performance dips during the first cutscenes, where each scene change would take a long time breaking the flow of the cutscenes.
The first achievement earned will continuously pop up, over and over.
When using 'PROTON_NO_ESYNC=0' the game continuously seized up in the time I was testing that.
Most of the issues with the game I suspect are from it being in early access, if a player goes in with that in mind, they'll be fine.
I'm not sure if it is from the game being early access, but launching the game opens a file browser window. If that happens, just navigate to the executable and run it from inside that window, then it runs fine.
Guess you can say it is a Platinum rating ;)
Works out of the box with both mouse/keyboard and the Xbox One controller.
