Aside from the easily circumvented online play issue caused by Easy Anti-Cheat, the game works as well as it does on Windows.
In the wide-open open world area, FPS is rather low. However, this is not specific to Linux and From Software has said they will address this and other possible performance issues in a future patch.
At least for the moment, online play only works if you disable your PC's network connection before you launch the game, and then quickly re-enable it before the game's splash screens finish and the game enters the main menu.

After the latest update, the game forces the use of the new launcher. The new launcher does not work on Linux, thus making the game unplayable.
Aside from a strange but easily averted controller issue, I haven't had any problems so far.

The controller was not working correctly until I opened the Steam overlay and the controller settings menu there. Before that, the game would detect the controller upon input, but instantly revert to keyboard controls.
My system info doesn't show it, so I'll mention it here: my GPU is a 7900 XT.
My framerate wasn't perfectly stable. There was slight stuttering sometimes, depending on what was in frame. Trying to limit the FPS to a lower, more stable number only made it worse.
In practice mode, when I was looking for it, the stuttering was distracting, but I was able to play and enjoy matches when I wasn't paying attention to it.

The game forcibly runs on my integrated GPU rather than the discrete one, and performance is terrible as a result.
If I could run the game on the discrete GPU instead it'd be fine, but there doesn't seem to be a switch for that.

The stuttering is so severe that it makes enjoying the game completely impossible.
There was extreme stuttering
Switching to an earlier version of Proton mitigates the stuttering significantly. I was able to enjoy the game after switching to Proton version 4.11-13
The launcher runs, but the game does not
Even after switching to Proton 4.11-13 and adding a launcher flag to use D9VK, only the launcher will run. After the launcher, Paradox's "proudly presents" video will run, and after that the game crashes every time.
Everything besides Alt-Tabbing works flawlessly.
