Completed the game and it worked flawlessly with no crashes or bugs. Played using game mode in Nobara Steam Deck Edition and Bazzite.
RADV_DEBUG=syncshaders %command%
In SteamOS's game mode, the window would initally launch in a 1280x800 window regardless of which resolution was actually selected which caused the image to either be cropped or have unnecessary black bars. When going into a different scene or by pressing continue in the game menu, the problem is fixed. Does not occur on desktop mode.
Without the syncshaders command, I experienced heavy visual artifacts that made the game unplayable. The command fixed all of them. After the command and setting the resolution before entering the main game (after every single launch), the game runs as expected. I have poor performance occasionally with dips to around 20-25 FPS but it's the same on Windows.
Major quirks but ultimately works
I couldn't enter my email into the text box to log in to my Microsoft account normally. To get around this, I had to create a GitHub account linked to the same email as my Microsoft account and log in via GitHub which worked normally. Also, the intro logos just show a black screen, but the game displays as normal once the start menu appears. Finally, graphical settings don't save after restarting the game.
Tried using Proton Experimental, GEProton8-32, GEProton9-9, and Proton 8.0-5 in addition to Proton 9.0-2 but all the same issues appeared. There are no major issues after I enter the game and set the graphical settings.
It works really well. I can run it at 1080p60 Ultra with a drop about every 15 minutes. There are no glaring visual or audio bugs.
Occasionally drops to 20FPS or lower and I didn't experience that on Windows
Sometimes I'd experience crashes during battle or right when a battle is supposed to end. Only happened maybe four times and I've played for 30 hours.
Experienced frozen loading screen on Day 79 first playthrough and Day 15 in Chapter 11. Was unable to fix these by changing Proton versions or other varuous fixes. However, completing these days on Windows and then switching back to Linux after them, works fine. I've also heard installing AMDVLK works, but I didn't want to do that.
Mostly works, but significant issues where it was easiest for me to just switch to Windows.
