Was able to play cross-platform campaign with my friend (host on win10, I had joined on Ubuntu).
Customizations:
Used a archive from this report (a custom x32 wine prefix with dotnet 3.5 installed): https://www.protondb.com/app/42910#Wb4Ykmz7Y

Since my laptop only has touchpad with no buttons (Mouse1 and Mouse2 are tap or doubletap respectively, Mouse3 is not present), casting spells was a challenge.
Given that the guy below had made his cutom prefix availible, it required next to no tinkering. - copy a folder he provided over the one that Steam creates in steamapps\compatdata, select Proton 3.7-8 - and you're set!

I was able to fully finish several runs of this game cross-platfrom (sometimes playing on Linux, sometimes on Windows) without troubles.

In combat, while zoomed out, performance noticeably drops, but the game is playabe still
