Runs good overall, some tweaks may be necessary.
If the game was running in tandem with another program, it was victim to a LOT of slowdown.
Played excellently right out of the box
Without specific switch pro controller drivers, it would constantly disconnect. However, as soon as the drivers were installed, game controlled perfectly.
Splash screen and then nothing.
Kinda shocked this still has a bronze. You have to do tons of fiddling around and you can only play offilne on a much older version of the game. Not at all worth it.
Runs great overall. Good experience.
Felt as if there was a slight input lag that was not present on Windows. Not by much though. Perhaps 2 frames at the most.
Cloud save from when I had the game on Windows did not seem to load properly.
A little bit chunkier than on Windows, but enabling vsync and disabling screen shake help tremendously.
Runs great out of the box. Online is also not impacted at all.
Following the guidance written by the previous report, you can use the default proton and still see the character select video.
Occasional stuttering, but only in menus. Kinda surprising given my hardware.
However, I was unable to see the videos inside the command list. They would simply display as a placeholder.
Good overall. Minor issues that only come up in certain scenarios.
Specifically in training mode, after resetting, and quickly doing a different action, background textures would flicker off and on briefly. Minor issue overall though since it doesn't seem to happen in any other mode.
Very playable most of the time but in-game videos seem to cause crashes, which is very frustrating.
Sometimes if a controller was disconnected, it would not reconnect until the game was restarted.
Short videos play when viewing the command lists and tutorial videos. Whenever the videos would begin to loop, the game would crash.
The game is playable while steam is in offline mode, but otherwise is very unstable.
Sometimes the game audio would become pitched down. It's a really strange bug that I've only ever heard happen with a couple of games.
If you play the game while steam is in online mode, it crashes after literally every match.
Playing any game mode that requires online does not work at all. This includes the Shadowlords single player mode, as well as traditional online multiplayer.
Installed and ran beautifully on my desktop. Nothing to complain about or any issues of note.
Excellent right out of the box. Did not seem to run into any issues that others seemed to have.
Shockingly, game runs perfectly. With games of this low budget, issues are kind of expected to come up without tweaks, but not this time.
Overall plays just fine. There is a fair bit of stuttering though, which is the only major issue.
Frequent stuttering in specific areas.
The game suffered from extreme slowdown for me, and felt uncomfortable to play because of it.
No matter the adjusted settings, the game always seemed to run slower than 60 fps. Felt closer to 40 or 50. As such, the game was frustratingly slow to play.
Installs fine and tries to start up before giving up after a few seconds.
A shame too because I really like this game
Excellent overall, but you'll need to lower the graphics more than you might have expected in order to get performance similar to Windows.
The frame rate was MUCH lower than on Windows. Also the load times were much longer.
Overall runs perfectly fine. Just minor issues that are in no way game-breaking or hinder your enjoyment.
The game unfortunately did not load my progress from before I switched over to linux. I've never had this issue so I don't know what changed.
Occasionally if I got a notification from a different app running on the computer the game might bug out and freeze for a half second.
Runs flawlessly like many other SNK titles. No issues to speak of.
Installed and ran beautifully right out of the box. No need to adjust or play with settings. Issues don't seem to happen with Nvidia cards.
Very occasional crackling, although it's so subtle, you'd need decent headphones to hear.
If you can live without the intro movie, it runs perfectly on linux. No issues, or significant glitches to be found.
The intro movie does not play. However, everything else works fine.
Opens as a black box forever until terminated
The game WILL work on 4.11 and 4.2 though, but with mediocre results and generally a poor experience.
Ran excellently, nearly indistinguishable from Windows.
Occasionally if a lot was happening on screen the game would drop frames.
Online leaderboards didn't seem to work.
I personally didn't have the other issues described such as the game looking blurry or being locked to 30 fps.
Installs, but neither the config tool nor the game itself launch.
Occasionally it even fails to download at all. Overall a very finicky game that is impossible to use out of the box.
After recent proton updates, the game is 100% playable. However, there are still some minor bugs and kb+m does not work at all.
Mouse was confined to the top left region of the screen.
If you launch the config tool and then launch the game from there, it won't start. You need to launch the game first, then access the config from within the game itself.
